Shugo Chara!! Doki – 01

OP: “Minna no Tamago” by Shugo Chara Egg! – I don’t know if I’m digging this new OP. It’s just not Buono quality. There are a ton of new characters in it though, and who’s that trap I see? Hurr hurr.

Summary:

While the Guardians are in class, their Shugo Chara reminisce about what has happened up to this point in the Royal Garden. Ran, Miki, and Su all recall how different Amu was before she met them, as well as the first times each of them preformed their Character Transformations. Iru and Eru, annoyed that the three have only been talking about themselves, join the the rest of the Guardians’ Shugo Chara by mentioning the other important things that have occurred. This brings them to the times Amu first met Tadase and the rest of the Guardians, as well as Ikuto and Utau. Several of Amu friends, including Nadeshiko, Kukai, and Kairi, have separated her because of various circumstances. Amu also met new friends, however, such as Rima. Daiya also comes out of her egg to discuss the time she appeared before Amu. When Amu and the rest of the Guardians return to the Royal Garden, it is kept a secret that Daiya had actually come out of her egg. With this, the Guardians’ days continue as usual.

ED: “Rottara Rottara” by Buono! – This is Buono’s usual catchy stuff. I find it hilarious that they have been able to produce stuff for every season of Shugo Chara so far. The animation is standard, revealing only what the OP already has.

Preview: Tadase VS. Ikuto…or something.

Impression:

I’m sorry, but as much as I like this show, this was a terrible way to start the season. I know this is after a 51 episode season, but why recap now!? There wasn’t even a break! The previous episode was last week!!! I guess this really only leaves me with the ability to talk about the new characters that showed up in the OP/ED. Having not read the manga past the first three volumes, I’m not sure who is anime original and who is not…..or even if any of them are. I did find it funny how Nadeshiko was fully revealed to be a boy though. That really hurt me last season… Besides that, it looks like most of this season will be like the last few episodes of the previous one. That is, full of lots of anime original and developing the current cast of characters. I have stated that I don’t hate the anime original as much as other fans, but I’m still not sure if I can enjoy talking about them for a full year. After going through the rest of what is airing today, I’ll probably make the decision whether I want to continue with this or not. If anything though, I want to at least get through a real episode first…

This can also be called Shugo Chara!! Doki – 52. It was even called that in the last episode’s preview.

The blonde haired (or kind of greenish…whatever that color is) girl with kind of curly hair is anime original. No idea what her purpose is, but starting the season off with a recap isn’t a good sign. I don’t think Satelight knows what to do with this season so they just stalled for time or something. Because there’s really no good reason to start off a series with a recap. We had a recap eight episodes ago.

No idea what they’re thinking…at least the music is still good though.

The staff is completely different from season 1, it seems the prior staff is taking a break or moving to other shows, I dunno. The animation on season 1 was good because the production team had the storyboards months before production started, even though the budget was not high.
They have more chapters of the manga to animate, but are not enough for another 51 episodes, so, some filler is expected.

I think that the hair on Tadase has grown a bit longer in the preview. (Egh) And I think the curly-haired girl is like the new Saaya.

Daiya was so much cuter as a batsu chara

Tadase REALLY looks gay with longer hair. Ugh >_>.
And why a recap, WHY? Shana II started like a recap, CG R2 Episode 1 was more or less the same idea as CG Episode 1. And both shows sucked T_T.

I somehow can’t bring myself to love this show as much as I used to… it’s not because of all the fans love/hate antics, but more of wanting to focus on other shows which I believe are worth my time and energy.

    Sorry Shugo Chara, I still love you but I can’t really watch each and every episode x__x;

I luv shugo chara no matter what. Obviously I won’t like the new characters but still…think about it, what if some random dude goes and watches Shugo Chara Doki! without watching the first season? Pretty much they summarize what has happened so far in the series. Dia rarely knew what happened in the past. It just shows the good times they had! I will watch until the very end. I like new things sometimes and sometimes not.

Apparently that Blondy girl is Lulu or something, the new worker for Easter. I really hope someone subs this, quality subs might I add.
