Jigoku Shoujo Mitsuganae – 08
Ai supports cute puppies.
Summary:
While she is outside, Yuzuki comes across Kikuri and Yamawaro chasing after a dog she is familiar with. Kikuri expresses her wish to eat the dog, named Momo, but Yamawaro advises against it. Yuzuki later returns Momo to her owner, Hatsumi, at the large housing complex she lives at. Another woman named Shintani then passes by, showing off the new bracelet she had bought. When Hatsumi enthusiastically shows her that Momo is wearing the same piece of jewelry though, Shintani becomes quite angry. This causes her to remind the manager that pets are not aloud at the complex, and later attempt to take off the bracelet while commuting.
When Shintani meets Hatsumi and Yuzuki in the elevator later, Hatsumi notices the rather expensive shoes she is wearing. When Hatsumi suggests that Shintani is quite good at shopping, she denies by mentioning the amount she had spent from her card at points. This makes Hatsumi admit that she typically does not know how much she uses on her own card. Shintani and Yuzuki express a bit of worry about this, but the conversation is stopped when Momo takes a leak in the elevator. Hatsumi quickly runs to get a towel to clean this up, but as Momo had peed on her shoes, Shinatani returns to her apartment even more angry than before.
Shintani begins to take measures in making it appear as if Momo has been causing all kinds of trouble at the housing complex, alerting the manager when he sees this. When Hatsumi appears to be ignorant of the actions, believing that the events may just be a child’s prank, Shintani instead takes measures directly against her. This includes putting very unsanitary garbage on her veranda, and banging on her wall from the neighboring room. Shintani begins spreading cruel rumors about Hatsumi to the other members of the complex, and when she sees a television program warning about what dogs shouldn’t eat, she takes further measures to poison Momo when she is away from Hatsumi. Realizing that all of this is Shintani’s work, and unable to take the abuse anymore, Hatsumi finally displays a large amount of anger towards her.
Coming from the veterinarian later, Hatsumi is passed by Kikuri who wonders if she plans on contacting the Jigoku Shoujo for revenge. This brings Hatsumi to do just that, allowing her to meet Ai that night. Hatsumi later finds a notice on her door, then meeting Shintani on the roof to see that she has taken several of Momo’s things. Having believed the dog to be dead already, Shintani admits to being the one to have done all of the cruel things to her. Shintani throws Hatsumi’s belongings across the roof to make her pick them up, leaving her as she is forced to go over the railing in attempt to pick one up. Hatsumi almost falls of the ledge, but while clinging to the side for her life, Momo brings her doll to her. Hatsumi finally loses her grip on the ledge, but not before pulling the string off her doll.
In a ridiculous form of torture, Shintani is finally brought to hell. Hatsumi had actually survived the fall, but when Yuzuki visits her, she sees that she is only worried about the fact that dogs are not allowed inside.
Preview: Inuo Kaede…just wants friends?

So, Jigoku Shoujo is officially parodying itself. Even thought I’ve been claiming that scenes from the show have been unintentionally funny lately, after watching this, I’m pretty sure that’s not even the case anymore. From a dog pissing on a woman’s shoes, to the same fatty creating earthquakes between rooms, I was laughing at this episode as much as I do with the usual comedies I watch. Even the way Momo was displayed as sick (KAK…) just proved that the animators were having a hilariously fun time with this. I can only wonder if, that after the series has run so long, the studio has realized that fans of the show really do not mind laughing at people’s misfortune and their ridiculous revenges.
Though most of the deaths have been undeserved this season, I’d have to personally say that Shintani did deserve her death. She was just a jerk…..and ugly. Her trying to draw negative attention to Hatsumi was terrible, and her showing off of her jewelry was even worse. I’ve never understood the appeal of such things. Are people really that susceptible to shiny items? Momo’s bringing the straw doll to Hatsumi at the end of this episode, and her pulling the string off while falling, was probably the most hilariously epic thing I’ve seen in this series so far. Seeing that Hatsumi was alive by the end was even more ridiculous. And even though last week’s preview made it almost seen that Yuzuki would become more involved with the Jigoku Shoujo, Kikuri and Yamawaro were only used as comic relief in this episode. Eh, I guess we have to settle for a neko wanchan mimi Ai this week.
…Oh, and Yuuko Goto still wins.

… Ai with dog-ears.
…
….
I have no words for this show.
Is that a Super Robot ‘Monkey’ Team Hyper Force Go! parody I see there? Or is it ‘Doggy’?
I dunno, I couldn’t even laugh at the ridiculous scenes myself. I’ve already seen the faces they used in Higurashi.
LOL @ the punishment scene…
)
I am expecting that her punishment would be more “brutal”…
&
I love Ai with dog ears
Well I guess you could say this is like a supernova, they have decided to go out with a comedic bang, as they clearly do not plan on doing any more with this series… except it is more of an instant implosion creating a black hole of fail.
Oh well, as long as it’s going comedy, they should do one episode where a couple, either married or not, or 2 “friends” send each other to hell at the same time in a fit of rage, and go through the whole girl sending to hell sequence together. That would make me lol.
seems that the dog’s owner in this episode simply has bad social skills. She doesn’t understand when something she says could insult someone (such as comparing the jewelry the lady bought to her dogs, and the italy thing. Yes I personally believe the lady’s reaction is over the top, but there are many people in life who would be insulted by what she didn’t mean to imply, but more quietly.
Transformers anyone? Ai with dog ears is cute imo…
I don’t understand what’s up with making a comedy out of the third season tho, I consider it being kinda stupid since the first season’s drama and stuff like that is what attracted me to actually like this anime. If they ever make a season 4 like season 3, I’m suing someone.
