Jigoku Shoujo Mitsuganae – 12
Triple……monitors!
Summary:
At a pool resort, Yuzuki enjoys a popsicle while the rest of her friends have yakisoba. While doing so, Yuzuki’s friend Nozomi explains that she is working there in order to help her relatives. Another student of Saigawara Junior High, Nomura, works there as well to fry the yakisoba. When most of the girls throw away their meals without finishing them, Nomura becomes quite annoyed. When Nomura returns home, he continues to be annoyed to see a bike placed in the spot he usual places his. When he starts to move it though, the older woman who owns it appears to express her anger with him. In his room afterwards, Nomura designs several small stickers depicting his versions of the various people who have bothered him throughout the day. After printing them out, he places them on a picture of a bikini clad woman that he has hidden behind a poster. Nomura accesses the Jigoku Tsushin website afterwards, and as the Correspondence observes this, they decide he is simply using the website as a game.
The next time he is at work, Nomura thinks about the girl he has a crush on, Kokoro. He is surprised when Kokoro shows up before him, but to his distaste, she happens to be with another man. As Nomura continues to interact with Nozomi, he begins setting his sights on her instead. While several events repeat themselves in the following days, more and more stickers begin adding up on Nomura’s poster. Nomura one day comes to the brink of reaching his goal, but as the manga he has been writing is almost finished, he decides against adding stickers for the day. He continues to prevent himself from doing this when he sees more annoying things in the following days, and becomes ecstatic when his manga is featured in the magazine that he had sent it to. With this, Nomura continues to work even harder on his manga. The Jigoku Tsushin also begins to lose interest, as this was not truly a job they wanted to accept anyways.
Nomura gains so much confidence in the following days that he even asks Nozomi out on a date. While heading home one night though, he passes by Kokoro who is attempting to commit suicide. Nomura saves her, then learning that her boyfriend Ryu had been dating several other girls. Nomura convinces Kokoro that she would be able to find a better man, so she thanks him before parting ways with him. Reaching home, Nomura finally reaches his goal. When trying to access the Jigoku Tsushin website though, he finds that he can no longer connect. Ai does appear before him, but with news that someone is sending him to hell. This happens to be Kokoro, who could not stand the thought of what would happen to her reputation now that Nomura has saved her. Nozomi becomes quite sad over Nomura who had disappeared later, which her friends try to comfort her about. Kokoro’s boyfriend requests that she wear a bikini the next time they meet, but as much as she would like to, a mark currently stains one of her breasts.
Preview: Plot? Huh? What?
Impression:
Nice equipment, Nomura, but who the heck actually uses the wacom mouse? This episode was full of intentional humor (yes, intentional is the key word) and parody, which actually had me laughing pretty nonstop throughout. The torture scene this week was also the most aesthetic one I’ve seen in all three of Jigoku Shoujo’s seasons, in the form of live action paper dolls being used in place of animation, so this episode ended up being a very, very pleasant surprise. It’s pretty bad when I have to be impressed that there have been two good episodes in the past few weeks, but at this point, how can I complain? The preview for next week’s episode hints that we will finally be getting to see more of Yuzuki’s interaction with Ai too, which I suppose will make up for the loss of the Ai hatching scene this week!
Notes:
- Yuzuki’s role in Jigoku Shoujo is to be the ice pop fanservice girl.
- I think I’ve finally realized what nosebleeds are suppose to be an allusion to after all these years….. *facepalm*
- Kikuri PUNCH!
- Kikuri kerroppi hat!!!
- Wanyuudou, always charming with his shiny head.
- TATANIC
- I would probably fanboy over Ai if I saw her irl too. Forget about being creeped out.
- Funny how megane girls always end up being secretly really cute.

Oh, wow. At first I thought it was a thriller-like episode that I kept expecting from this series, then it turns into a neurotic comedy before simply turning surreal. Using a gravure poster as a racetrack was just geniusly insane. This just breaths new life into the series.
So now that you’ve figured it out, what’s implied when girls get nosebleeds?
Girls can nosebleed too..
where do u people watch this? the websites i know still dont have it! pls tell me a webpage where they have it (Dont care if its without subs)
Hm… the episode itself was good, I liked it. What happened was tragic to say the least. I personally hoped that this would be an episode with no doll pulling.
Kokoro girl = GOD DAMNIT!! WTF!?!
absolute rage!
send guy helping you to hell?!? kind of counter-intuitive.
I was impressed with the torture scene (Kikuri was so cute!)and..disappointed that Kokoro sent him to hell because of that.
D: I looked up what nosebleeds meant after reading so much Love Hina.
I was kinda sad that he got sent to hell over such a stupid reason but I think that’s what the show was going for. Shame though, he and Nozomi would have made a cute couple.
kokoro means over there…they better named her momoko
