Maria-sama ga Miteru 4th Season – 01
OP: “Chizu Sanpo (地図散歩)” by kukui – WHAT? A real OP in MY Marimite?? YUMI. SHE IS A MAHOU SHOUJO.
Summary:
As the upcoming school festival activities are discussed among the Roses in the Rose Mansion, Sachiko decides on a play which most of the members realize Yumi and her younger brother would have a perfect role in. The boys from Hanadera eventually arrive at Lillian to help as they typically do, and in the process, Kanako and Touko are introduced to Yuki. Sachiko soon surprises the large cast that has gathered, by suggesting that they all forget the lines they have been trying to memorize up to this point. As she proposes that everyone’s roles be switched, Yumi and the others certainly see that this would be interesting. While walking with her outside afterwards, Yoshino recalls that they are in the same season that Yumi first became Sachiko’s petite soeur. Although Yoshino and Shimako easily notice that Yumi has her mind on this, she suggests otherwise.
While in the mansion later, Kanako brings up her distaste in both having to work with men and even having to act as one in the play. This makes her express that she should have not made her promise to Yumi, but she does not go back on her word as Yumi seems to guess she would. While in the halls with her afterwards, Noriko brings up to Yumi that Touko has not been attending activities at the drama club. Of course, it is not hard to suggest that the Yamayurikai’s play has something to do with this. The Roses practice when everyone meets in the mansion, but when the visiting Touko leaves, Yumi brings up what she had learned from Noriko earlier. For her well being, it is decided by everyone that Yumi would tell Touko to drop out from the Yamayurikai’s play in order to return to the drama club’s activities.
When Touko next arrives at the mansion, Yumi prevents her from entering. As Touko again lies about being on break from the drama club, Yumi brings up the club’s schedule against her this time. Yumi sees through Touko’s second lie about becoming tired of the club, as she clearly loves acting, so Touko finally admits to have gotten into a small argument with one of the members. Touko had been given the main role of the upcoming play, despite being an underclassman, so one member asked if she was really up to the task. With this, Touko had suggested that she play the role instead. Yumi suggests that Touko return to the drama club, and when Touko sees the kind expression on Yumi’s face again, she finally agrees to. Of course, as Yumi had suggested many things differently from what the Roses had instructed her to, she is scolded afterwards as usual. In the end, she had handled things much better than they originally intended. As activities continue in the following days, it finally comes to the point where there is only one more day until the festival.
ED: “Kumori Garasu no Mukou (くもりガラスの向こう)” by Kaori Hikita – I miss KOTOKO. This is still as pretty as ever though…and hot.
Preview: The play, and an anniversary.
Impression:
SAD TOUKO IN THE SNOW. Man, I’m glad the ED made it completely obvious what is going to end up happening in the Yumi/Kanako/Touko side of the story. Then again, I guess most fans would say that was obvious from the beginning. This episode had a bit of reintroduction to the characters and what has been happening up to this point, but for the most part, we picked right back up from where the third season ended. Everything was pretty much the same, but as I just implied, the focus of this season will probably be Yumi making Touko her um…you know. Spoilers. Right.
As far as coverage goes, though I’m still kind of hesitant about picking it up, I will probably cover Marimite for the season. I’m saying I’m hesitant for a couple of reasons: One, I’m not as big of a Marimite fan as several other people are. Two, I only really watch this show to get giddy about Yumi turning everyone into a super lesbian and Sachiko’s going dere over her all the time. I don’t really get the whole great slice of life feeling I do from other shows like this. I’m sure several other fans only watch this show for the reason I do too, but still, I think it’s kind of insulting to anyone who actually watches this show seriously. Maybe I can try to tune my tendencies down a bit?
Oh, and for anyone unfamiliar with this show, it has always had a ridiculously high profile seiyu line up. I would put up a cast list or something, but just about all of the main characters are played by some of my favorite voice actresses.
Notes:
- Alice. Go. Away.
- Kanako smiling! She is a giant!
- Yumi: “YOU SHALL NOT PASS.”
- She even has evidence. The culprit is you!!!
- Touko is tsun for Yumi.
- Yea Sachiko, you fix that tie! F-yea!
- Yumi getting giddy and jumping around Touko was the greatest thing ever.

“Yumi getting giddy and jumping around Touko was the greatest thing ever.”
Yeah that was very cute scene to watch Yumi get all work up. Define the show has very Yumi feel to and I like Yumi a lot.
Show is full of hateful lies! Lies, I say!
I’d Touko’s drill hair. :3
Someone start counting the number of times Yumi changes her ribbon (for this season).
“Yumi getting giddy”
I replayed that scene five times!!
Also Touko-chan is so kawaii.
Good. That church music in all the other OPs got old reeal quick. And I don’t care if it’s insulting: lesbian undertones(?) = hawt.
Overtones.
Undertones until they animate the orgies.
Ahh……..fuck, I want to watch this series so badly. The only sub that I can understand is in Thai and I didnLt like the way they sub that much. Hey, Totali, please use your Onee-sama’s power to have the English sub soon !! XD
