In one of the pictures, you can see a sword that was abandoned. Could that have been Ren?

Of course it's gotta be linked; at the very least, metaphorically. And on the mention of the OP, editing post.

I still think this season has the weakest OP, but it's been growing on me (especially after this).

Whoa!!!

I have to wonder though... Ai became Jigoku Shoujo as punishment for her own hunger for revenge (she burned her entire village). Why would Yuzuki have to carry on with that? What did she do?

Either Yuzuki is hiding some kind of horrible secret, or she will become as consumed by revenge as Ai was in her day. At least those reasons would be the ones that make sense to me. If the second one is true, it is going to be tied to Akie's ferrying (maybe the rest of her friends if I may be a bit macabre).

Then again, I keep thinking about the opening sequence and how Yuzuki appears there in the middle of train tracks about to be run over (suicide style, complete with sad face and all). Watch the opening again if you did not notice. Could this be linked?

This episode seems interesting. I'm excited to watch it. I honestly did see the whole Yuzuki being destined to become Jigoku Shoujo thing coming though, it seems a bit cliche, but yet interesting at the same time.

Next episode I wonder if there will be a connection between Jigoku Shonen and Jigoku Hakase besides the name? There is still a possibility that Jigoku Hakase is Gil, right? Regardless, I do hope Jigoku Hakase has powers like Gil did, it would be nice to see another duel. It would be nice to see something actually happen to Ai this season that doesn't involve Yuzuki...
