Summary:

Observing the current season in the morning, Kouta notes the similarity the scenery has with his home town. When he mentions that he would like to take Chizuru to see his grandfather, she wonders if this would be something like a family greeting. Kouta becomes embarrassed by this, but Chizuru further brings up that Kouta still hasn’t answered her question from earlier. Kouta is unable to give Chizuru a clear response, only taking the chance to run to school and avoid the question. In the classroom, most of the usual group is surprised to find that Akane has agreed to go on a date with Tayura. Akane claims that it is only payback for his saving her, and the group only laughs when she declines Tayura’s suggestions in favor of a much more plain event. Kouta discusses this with Chizuru and Nozomu while eating lunch on the school rooftop later, when Chizuru starts to talk about preparations she would have to make to become a wife. Kouta suddenly remembers the night on the beach, where he was unable to give his answer to Chizuru. Chizuru believed she already knew Kouta’s answer, but she still wanted to hear him say it. Before he could answer, however, the two were interrupted by the rest of their friends.

Chizuru and Kouta are finally able to be alone in a classroom later, but they are still interrupted by Nozomu who was able to sense Chizuru’s usual erotic aura. Chizuru attempts to meet in a more secluded area outside the next day, but interruptions such as Ren and Ai still appear to anger her. Chizuru notices Tayura studying hard when she reaches home, quickly guessing his plans to confess to Akane. Tayura becomes flustered, but Chizuru seems to agree when he suggests that this has nothing to do with her. Meanwhile, Kouta attempts to practice his confession to Chizuru despite how embarrassing it is. At school the next day, Tayura shows Kouta some victory poses he has been coming up with to gain Akane’s favor. When Tayura mentions how different he is from his sister, in that Chizuru can easily confess to the one she loves, Kouta realizes something important. Akane is embarrassed when she sees Tayura’s act soon after, which the girls discuss in the locker room afterwards.

After school, Kouta has a hard time trying to talk to Chizuru. Chizuru suddenly suggests that they go to have parfaits, and Kouta is surprised when Chizuru seems to have suddenly returned to her normal self. Chizuru was actually troubled, of course, returning home disappointed that Kouta did not say anything. The next day, Chizuru finally decides that she would have Kouta answer her with his body. However, she is shocked when Kouta does not wish to do it with her. Kouta is even unable to answer Chizuru when she falls into tears, causing her to run out of the room she dragged him into. Thinking to himself during class, Kouta finally comes to a resolution. He is unable to find Chizuru after class, but he guesses where she would be when he looks outside. In the now falling rain, Kouta finds Chizuru on the bridge they first met on. Chizuru does not believe she can face Kouta, but Kouta soon describes her as the most important person to him. Kouta finally confesses, making Chizuru finally return to her usual joy.

ED: Same ending, but “life goes on” scenes were included.

Impression:

You know what this show needed? More Ren and Ai. Okay, so it needed way more than that, but I’ll save that for the final impression. For a final episode, this was a total drag. As much as I usually love awesome confession scenes, it’s hard to be enthused when it takes an entire episode of nothing to get there. The animation was definitely nothing to call home about either, and why was the insert song at the end so loud that it made it hard to hear what Chizuru was saying? I did laugh at a few of the scenes though, mostly those dealing with Tayura and Akane. But for the most part, this episode was more of the same and less. Well, at least it’s over.

Final Impression:

Kanokon was destined for failure as soon as it started, and I think we all saw it coming. But well, we watched it anyways. (unless you are just reading this without having watched the show. In that case, you’ve saved yourself a lot of time.) So what was the appeal of this show? For me, it was probably the lovcom factor. For most everyone else, I suppose it was a cast including Kawasumi Ayako and Noto Mamiko. Sure, it’s fine to watch a show for the seiyu (I do it all the time), but let’s be honest. Voice actors are not going to save a crappy show. The last time I heard Noto doing a boku role was during Girls Bravo, and well, I wasn’t the most enthused about that show either. (Actually, now that I look at it, Kanokon may share similarities with Girls Bravo in that both of the main roles were played the the same seiyu.) I also watched Lovely Idol in its entirety just recently, further proving this fact. Like a crappy movie that sells because of its actors, I’m sure anime is just the same.

Sampling the drama CD and looking into the novels’ background, I also realized that this show actually had a LOT of wasted potential. A story about yokai and love could have been interesting, but not when all of the development was thrown out of the window for fanservice. Okay, that’s certainly something this show had. It had so much of it that it was taken off of some broadcasts! Now, I’m not a big fan of blatant fanservice. I find it funny when presented correctly, but using it to drive a show is just something that I’ve never understood. Some people do enjoy it though, and well, they can keep fapping enjoying it.

Sure, Kanokon had its moments. Some scenes, and I mean some, were very well animated. It was also quite funny at times, and some of the love power vibes totally hit base with me. Was this enough to save the show though? Not a chance. This one goes down in my book as yet another terrible disappointment. One day, I’m going die from consuming so much bad anime.

Bandaids…

Summary:

Observing the scenery at the empty beach they are at, Chizuru tells Kouta that they are at a resort that only yokai know about. Tayura shows up with several pieces of luggage afterwards, followed by the rest of the group’s friends. The girls soon decide to change away from the boys, but they are shocked when Nozomu’s swimsuit consists of simple bandages around her private parts. When the girls are finally ready, Nozomu mentions a nice smell coming from somewhere close by. Chizuru believes that there shouldn’t be anything on the island, but the group is surprised when they find a shop at the end of the forest. This happens to be run by Chizuru’s mother Tamamo, who Chizuru is not pleased to see. The group is forced to stay when Nozomu purchases a swimsuit from Tamamo, so Kouta suggests that they eat there. The group finds that the food isn’t exactly appetizing inside, but this is only due to Tamamo’s useless intervention. Tamamo has Yukihana bring out a much better dish, but she does not let Kouta try it before feeding her some of it. This makes Chizuru extremely angry, but she is relieved when Kouta feeds her as well.

Chizuru has Kouta help her with lotion later, but Nozomu eventually appears wishing for help as well. After the three of them feel good for awhile, Chizuru decides to take a shower. Chizuru takes the chance to ask Kouta whether he prefers Nozomu or herself after returning, but she puts it off as a joke while going to get some juice. When Tamamo sees Chizuru on the way, she wonders if things are going well between herself and Kouta. Chizuru is flustered by the question, but her mother simply pushes her back out to have fun after her expected answer. When Chizuru returns to the rest of the group, she finds that they are in panic while Akane is struggling in the sea. Tayura quickly jumps in to save her, which the rest of the girls make Akane remember when she comes to. With this, Akane gives her thanks to Tayura in her own way later. The group gathers to eat over a campfire later, but Chizuru can only worry about her inability to be alone with Kouta. While the group takes the chance to enjoy themselves afterwards, Chizuru finally finds the chance to be alone with Kouta. Taking a walk with Kouta, Chizuru expresses the relief she has for being able to walk alone with him under the starry sky. Chizuru finally asks Kouta what she thinks of her, giving Kouta no choice but to answer…

Impression:

Yea, so Band-Aid is a brand name. They’re actually called adhesive bandages. Excuse me for being an ignorant American. Uh, anyways….despite parts of this episode being high on the usual ecchi levels, I actually enjoyed it quite a bit. Nozomu’s swimsuit and food antics were pretty funny, and seeing Yukihana again was definitely a plus. Most of the group’s activities on the beach were pretty standard, but Chizuru’s bouncing boobs were so exaggerated during the lotion scene that it had me remembering that time my friends and I rented DOA Beach Volleyball (which was actually a totally crap game by the way). My favorite part of the episode definitely had to be Tayura’s saving Akane and the aftermath. That had love power written all over it, and Chiwa Saito’s awesome typecast role showed through so much. The end of the episode kind of seemed like a cliffhanger, but I’m sure they just assumed we knew what Kouta was suppose to say already. There’s only one episode left, but considering what we have been seeing so far, I seriously doubt it will really conclude anything.

Friendship power!

Summary:

While running errands for Chizuru, Tayura flees for his life from a large spider. Meanwhile, Kouta continues to massage Chizuru in hopes of bringing her boobs back. This continues at school, and Nozomu who is watching eventually requests to be rubbed as well. Chizuru actually agrees to let Kouta do this, but she will only let them go so far. Rin and Ai continue having their usual troubles, causing an explosion at the school. Tayura finally returns from his world journey, but he finds that Akane is quick to punish him for his actions. Despite how much he had gone through, Chizuru isn’t interested in Tayura’s stories either. Rin and Ai report to Minori with their failure, but she realizes that the two are hopeless despite their promises to try again. Kouta continues to assist Chizuru throughout the day, getting help from Nozomu in making drinks to help Chizuru’s breasts become larger. When Chizuru has her size checked again, however, she finds that they have not grown at all. When Kouta gives her encouragement though, Chizuru is quick to find ways to cheer herself up.

When Rin and Ai watch how hard Chizuru is trying, they question if they are really doing the right thing. The twins are found out later when Chizuru and the others stop by a family restaurant. To their surprise, however, they are simply invited to eat as well. Rin and Ai are confused as to what to do while the rest of the group makes their orders, but they finally agree with the group’s suggestions after Chizuru promises to treat them. Extremely moved, the twins thanks Chizuru for the chance to finally eat something decent for a change. Rin and Ai confront Minori that night after changing their decision, but Nue quickly strikes them down. With this part of their plan finished, Minori has the monsters that she has summoned appear.

Fearing that she may stay flat forever, Chizuru tests herself with Kouta at school. In the meantime, Minori carries out her plans by releasing monsters to the school. A barrier quickly appears to protect it, and the humans are put to sleep. When the barrier breaks, the monsters instantly invade the school grounds. However, the yokai do their best to defend against them. Minori has Nue go after Kouta, and with her strength, she easily pushes her way through several of the yokai. Once she reaches the inside, Tayura stops her for a moment so that Chizuru and the others can escape. Nozomu is forced to slow Nue down as well, leaving Chizuru and Kouta alone. Kouta suggests that they combine again, but Chizuru recalls that her powers have weakened. Although it seems like they cannot connect as they did before, Chizuru promises to at least protect Kouta.

Nue crashes through a locked room to find Kouta and Chizuru, but Kouta swears to protect Chizuru despite the threat before him. With this, a glowing ball of light appears and his chest begins to burn. In a dazzling transformation, Kouta combines with Chizuru in a munch more powerful form than before. Nue still manages to dodge his attacks, but Kouta’s powers easily dissolve the monsters around the school. Minori realizes that Kouta has finally awakened, but she is forced to escape with Nue while promising to go after him again later. Kouta is unable to remember what happened when he wakes up, but he finds that Chizuru’s breasts have finally returned. With this, Chizuru expresses how much she loves Kouta as usual.

Impression:

Okay, so it took two episodes to get her boobs back. This episode was no where near as ecchi as the last episode, and by my books, that’s just fine. Some of this episode just seemed lame to me, but for the most part, it was pretty decent. I really love Rin and Ai’s characters. Not only are they twins and lolis, but the way their poor stature is played on is just hilarious. Even though I work in a restaurant, I could really relate to their difficulty with ordering food in this episode. I’m sure many others have shared the experience of going to a restaurant for the first time and not knowing what to get!

The boob returning portion of this episode was kind of boring, especially after the last episode, but it was hilarious hearing Yuki call Kouta a “big breast junkie”. Some of the scenes in this episode were really pretty too, but a lot of the fight scenes were just plain lazy. Stills and speed lines just make me giggle. We did finally get to see Nozomu’s form though, and Nue’s black wings were pretty cool. I guess she would be a chimera. Next week is the necessary beach episode, but I’m just going to have to say that I’m glad this show is almost coming to a close.

Her boobs disappeared!? OH NO!

Summary:

Chizuru has her usual fun with Kouta one night in his room. Outside, Mitama Minori and Nue watch from afar. Becoming frustrated at what she sees, the younger girl Minori declares that she will save Kouta. Rin and Ai battle against a large bug somewhere in the forests later, when Minori and Nue appear to help them. The twins are threatened at first, but after their father explains who the two are, Minori tells the twins of the request she has. To their surprise, this deals with none other than Chizuru. Although they are hesitant at first, Rin and Ai are quickly won over when Nue presents a large amount of money to them.

Rin and Ai have difficulty assaulting Chizuru while at school, so they come up with a different plan during lunch. Taking the chance to get closer to Chizuru in her group, they secretly slip some medicine in her drink. The twins believe their plan has succeeded when Chizuru starts to feel unwell, but they are surprised to find that only Chizuru’s breasts have become smaller as a result. Chizuru herself panics, though Kouta does his best to prevent her from despairing. Later that night, Kouta insists that they simply find a way to bring Chizuru’s breasts back. This leads to a meeting involving Tayura and Nozomu, where they would find ways to find out how to bring Chizuru’s breasts back.

Alone with Chizuru and Nozomu, Kouta begins massaging Chizuru in hopes of bringing her breasts back. When this doesn’t seem like enough, he begins poking her. This excites Chizuru, and to her surprise, her breasts actually seem to come back a bit. Chizuru explains that she has heard of this before, as girls breasts get bigger because of hormones during excitement. With this, it is decided that Kouta must make Chizuru feel even more excited. Not wanting a rival that isn’t worth fighting, Nozomu takes actions to help. Pulling down Chizuru’s panties, she insists to Kouta that he should eat delicious cake. With this, Kouta licks Chizuru. Outside, Rin and Ai are too shocked to continue carrying out their actions. In the meantime, Minori and Nue have incantations prepared for their plan.

Zetsubou shita!!! Holy crap, this episode was hilarious. It was hilarious and it was disturbing. What am I watching!? Forget details or plot. Chizuru’s panties went down and Kouta licked her freaking ass! WHY!? I really don’t know what to think about this episode at all. Rin and Ai were really awesome twin loli ninjas, and I loved the poor jokes again, but it seems like they were just pushed aside for delicious cake. I could rant on and on about the last few minutes of this episode, but is there really a point? This episode was a trip, and I still haven’t absorbed all of what I just saw. If it’s already gotten this bad, I don’t even want to know what the last few episodes have in store for us.

Milfs, love potions, and hot springs….what’s missing?

Summary:

Kouta is impressed when he and Chizuru reach a hot springs resort, but Chizuru is more concerned with why all of their other friends had to tag along as well. The spring’s manager soon introduces herself as Tamamo to the group, and Kouta is surprised when he sees Yukihana working there as well. Further surprising the group, Tamamo introduces herself as Chizuru’s mother. While the girls have their usual talks in the rooms later, Chizuru leaves while implying that she is not on the best terms with her mother. While sitting alone elsewhere, she remembers Yukihana’s message for her to come to the hot springs after their previous test. After Kouta appears to cheer Chizuru up, they head to the hot springs. Nozomu accompanies them, however, and the baths turn out to be separated for gender.

Kouta prepares to leave the bath after awhile, but he is shocked when Tamamo enters to wash his back. When Chizuru hears the noises Kouta makes on the girls’ side of the bath, she suspects that her mother is doing something. Further more, she finds that a barrier has been placed around the boys’ bath. Kouta takes the chance to ask Tamamo if Chizuru has always acted the way she has, but he is surprised to hear that Tamamo is not Chizuru’s true mother. She and Tayura had been taken in by her a couple hundred years ago. Tamamo soon changes the subject to something more erotic, but this results in Chizuru’s breaking in to that side of the bath. While Chizuru attempts to challenge Tamamo, she reveals that she is a nine tailed fox. This quarrel soon dissolves though, when Kouta passes out from blood loss.

During dinner, Chizuru goes missing as she has been trapped in a barrel. Tamamo introduces a drink called Kubito to the rest of the group in the meantime. Although it is not alcohol, she implies that it does have an effect on humans. When Chizuru finally breaks out, she finds that Kouta has already become quite attached to Nozomu because of the drink’s effects. In the meantime, the drink has taken effect on the others in different ways as well. Chizuru desperately goes after Kouta as he and Nozomu go to various private places, but when she finally catches up to them, she falls into despair while Kouta calls her a bother. While she is alone, Chizuru is only able to think about her wish for Kouta to return to the way he usually is. Kouta finally regains his senses right before going down on Nozomu, as images of Chizuru go through his mind. When he finds Chizuru crying alone afterwards, she quickly embraces him. As the group leaves in the morning, Tamamo leaves Chizuru in Kouta’s hands. In the end, this was another test.

Impression:

Maybe the tits…..on the boobs. So, if you hadn’t already heard the news, Kanokon has been pulled from some of its broadcasting services because of its material. After last week, was this surprising at all? I was wondering what was up after the first episode. All of this considered, I don’t know if this episode was really as bad as most of us were expecting it to be. Even though the plot almost came straight out of some cheap hentai, I actually enjoyed it quite a bit. It was interesting to finally meet Chizuru’s mother, a nine tailed fox at that. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of seeing Yukihana either. Watching Tayura desperately go after Akane was as hilarious as ever, and who doesn’t enjoy a love potion theme every once in awhile? Well, watching Kouta in “I want sexxorz” mode was kind of weird. The love power vibes in the end were definitely win too. We got more hints towards the two characters who showed up a few episodes back, and it looks like they might be properly introduced in the next episode.

Subzero!

Summary:

Kouta finds that it is cold in the morning, but when he opens his eyes, he sees Chizuru in a very erotic appearance next to him. Chizuru attempts to seduce Kouta as usual, but she is interrupted by a cold gust of wind from outside. Unknown to the two, a girl in a ninja outfit waits on top of a neighboring roof. While walking to school, Kouta starts to feel nostalgic over the first snowfall he experiences in the town. He is surprised when Chizuru states that she hates the snow, but this is only because of the interruption it caused earlier. Chizuru tells Kouta that she came from a mountain with hot springs, but she takes the chance to get closer to Kouta again after stating this. The two are interrupted by a gust again, but this time, the ninja reveals herself as a girl named Yukihana.

When Kouta reaches the classroom, Nozomu notices that he is carrying one different scent than usual. Chizuru meanwhile speaks with Yukihana, already suspecting that she was sent to interfere with her and Kouta. Yukihana tells Chizuru that there are very few cases where humans and deities have lived happily, but Chizuru insists otherwise. After all, her mother experienced something of the nature. When Tayura hears Kouta’s description of Yukihana, he already suspects the trouble that would occur. When Yukihana realizes that Chizuru does not plan on leaving Kouta, she causes a snow storm as a test. The teachers inside the school quickly have the students remain in their classrooms, while looking for help to no avail.

When Chizuru finally meets with Kouta, she quickly leaves with him. While the girls try to warm themselves in the classroom, they notice that Nozomu and Tayura have also left with the two. As it becomes even colder in the school, the deities realize that it would soon become troublesome for the humans. Because of this, Rin and Ai help Akane and the others live with their knowledge of survival. In the meantime, Tayura and the others run into trouble with the army of snowmen that Yukihana has created. Chizuru and Nozomu are able to escape into a room with Kouta, but they soon notice that he is becoming very cold. Because of this, they quickly attempt to warm him up with their bodies.

Yukihana soon appears to interrupt the group, isolating Nozomu who allows the other two to escape. When Chizuru reaches outside with Kouta, she finds that he is already losing consciousness from the cold. She asks for just a bit of power, as the two share a kiss once more. With this, Yukihana is able to see the great power the two hold. This also makes her realize the strong bond the two hold. To Chizuru’s surprise, Yukihana reveals that this was all only a test for Chizuru and Kouta. As she disappears, the snow storm around the school calms down. Kouta is put to relief, but when the students look outside, they see his and Chizuru’s embarrassing appearances.

Preview: Hotsprings?

Impression:

MORTAL KOMBAT!!! So, besides the usual over the top nakedness and stripper hearts (No really, stripper hearts and a thong? I….I’m not even going to talk about it…), this episode was actually pretty entertaining. Even if we didn’t exactly see a whole lot of her, Yukihana is a really interesting character. I mean, who doesn’t like ninjas!? During her conversation with Chizuru, we also got some hints towards Chizuru’s background. I wonder if we’ll learn more about that, since the story has been jumping around a lot from what I can see. I laughed pretty hard at Rin and Ai’s antics in the school as well. Those two are totally squatters, and I wouldn’t mind living in their cardboard box for awhile. Seeing Nozomu’s loli ball and the wordplay game she and Chizuru played were both hilarious too, especially with the nice symbolism. The end of this episode was hella pretty, and it makes me wonder how much potential Xebec really has. Why is this mindless anime better animated than half of the other shows airing right now?? Next week looks like a hot springs episode, even though the preview wasn’t very revealing. I dunno about you guys, but I think that hints towards all kinds of bad.

Poor Tayura.

Summary:

At the start of the new year, Kouta reminisces over the past year’s events and wonders how is grandparents must be. His thoughts are interrupted when Chizuru comes into his room to greet him, however, dressed in a kimono and wanting to spend time with him as his girlfriend. Kouta agrees that Chizuru’s kimono looks extremely well on her, but he quickly has her come under his kotatsu when she begins her typical acts. In the meantime, Tayura struggles about asking Akane out to the day’s events. While Kouta attempts to carry out his New Years activities, Chizuru only constantly interrupts him with her flirting. Chizuru eventually has Kouta remove her kimono, revealing that she is actually wearing a school swimsuit underneath. In other places, the other school students meet with each other for the day’s activities.

When Chizuru starts to prepare some food for Kouta, he starts to believe something like this isn’t so bad. Kouta finally expresses that he was happy that Chizuru came, and Chizuru takes the chance to present a game when the conversation runs silent. Lying that not following the game’s instructions would result in many horrible things, Chizuru successfully has Kouta massage her. After many moves allowing Chizuru to get close to Kouta, he starts to believe that she has altered the board. Chizuru stops Kouta from fixing the problem, but Nozomu appears before she can take action. Nozomu removes her own kimono through Chizuru’s example, but there is no school swimsuit underneath.

Both Chizuru and Nozomu accompany Kouta to the day’s festival later, acting in their usual ways. Tayura eventually catches up to the group, and since he is alone, he tags along. After the group receives varying fortunes, they meet Omi and Mio. The rest of their friends also appear to give greetings, but Akane has her usual warnings for Chizuru. To prevent the two from arguing any further, Kouta brings the two sake to drink. After several drinks, Akane becomes quite drunk. Tayura does his best to please her during the day’s activities, but she passes out before he can present her with a gift. The entire group decides to visit Kouta’s house at the end of the day, greatly disappointing Chizuru who had other plans.

Impression:

Why is it that the people who want normal relationships in these types of shows always get screwed over? I’ll be rooting for Tayura from now on, since Akane is probably my favorite character in this show. As far as the New Years theme of the episode went, I thought it was done pretty well despite it getting pushed aside for the usual ecchi fanservice. This episode really felt like a Hidamari Sketch episode to me, even with the way some shots were done. This whole show just has a unique feel to it, and despite all the bad rap it’s getting, I have to appreciate it for that reason. I also loved things like the chibi transformations and the boys’ expressions while looking at their fortunes and the such. Starry eyes are always fun too. It looks like the next episode will be getting back to the main “plot”, with the introduction of yet another new character. I would say I’m expecting some type of twist, but I know the plot will just follow its usual formula.

Sorry this is late by the way, even though I doubt many of you care about hearing my excuses anymore. I was at a show last night, since that’s what us anime bloggers like to do – rock out. I was busy during the day too…and tired. Give me back my summer!

Shouta Fox V.S. Wolf – Heaven or Hell. Let’s rock!

Summary:

Chizuru attempts to have her with Kouta as usual on the school rooftop, assuring him that it will be alright with her barrier up. It is soon found that someone has broken the barrier, however, and Chizuru sees that it was by a man named Saku. Over lunch, Kouta learns that Saku is Nozomu’s older brother. Saku expresses how much he has heard about Kouta from Nozomu, before claiming to have come to see Chizuru. Seeing how attached Chizuru is to Kouta, Saku places a charm on Kouta’s arm. When Chizuru tries to take it off later, Kouta begins getting a strong headache. Chizuru asks Saku about this later, so he claims that the charm is meant to prevent shameless acts. In a worst case scenario, Kouta could die from its effects. When Chizuru asks why Saku would do something like this, he claims that it is because he is interested in Chizuru. Before leaving, Saku asks Chizuru to be his. Frustrated that night, Chizuru makes plans on what to do after helping Kouta.

The next day, Chizuru despairs at the fact that she cannot follow Kouta to school. In class, Kouta and his friends realize that Chizuru had become a regular part of their lives before they realized it. During this conversation, Chizuru is only able to watch from afar. Nozomu asks about her brother’s actions on the school rooftop, but he simply tells her to believe in him. Chizuru continues to be frustrated throughout the day by only being able to watch Kouta. Kouta keeps believing he senses her in the meantime, but acts likes nothing is wrong in front of Tayura and Nozomu. Kouta visits Chizuru’s home that night, but Chizuru is unable to face him at the door. Afterwards, Chizuru declares that she will remove the band from Kouta’s arm. Tayura is quick to remind her of the consequences, but Chizuru believes that what she is experiencing at the moment is the same as being dead.

Tayura gets help from Omi and Mio the next day, facing Saku in Chizuru’s place. Tayura and Omi send countless attacks at Saku, but they find that they are no match for him when he transforms. When Chizuru finally catches up to the group, she transforms herself in order to face Saku. Noticing that Kouta is troubled in the classroom, Nozomu asks what Kouta thinks of Chizuru. He is only able to reply that he does not know, but Nozomu quickly alerts him of the battle that is going on afterwards. When Kouta finally reaches Saku’s location, he sees everyone’s damaged states. Kouta goes to Chizuru’s side, and even Nozomu prevents her brother from reaching the two. Wanting to help Chizuru, Kouta combines with her once again. With this, the two are easily able to defeat Saku. Realizing that he has lost afterwards, Saku removes the band from Kouta’s hand. Saku leaves both Chizuru and Nozomu in Kouta’s hands later, and takes off on his bike once again. Further away, he meets a young girl and her guardian. Not wanting to be involved in such work again, Saku simply reports that the power was real.

Wait, did my mindless fanservice anime just almost turn into a romantic drama and fighting anime? I dunno how excited I could get over a shirtless wolf spirit battles, but watching Chizuru struggle about seeing Kouta was pretty fun. I guess they do have to go for some kind of plot for this show, especially since it seems like a lot of it has already been stripped out for the anime adaption. But eh, I don’t suppose this episode will be as talked about as some of the previous ones. Watching kamehameha fights can be fun sometimes, but Kanokon is no Ikkitousen. I did laugh at the team having Chizuru being left naked after her battle just because they could though. It seems like we’ll soon get a look at the loli and her guardian that have been appearing in the OP, but I guess I’ll just be expecting more of the same formula next week.

Summary:

Everyone has gym class outside, but Chizuru has other plans with Kouta inside the storage room. The two are interrupted by Nozomu, however, who clings to Kouta as usual. With this, Chizuru has her regular fit. Chizuru complains to Tayura later during lunch, but he convinces her that she should be spending her time trying to find a way to get Kouta back instead. Tayura jokingly suggests using a medicine to do it, but Chizuru takes this seriously. Tayura is forced to follow Chizuru to a forbidden room in the school, where inside she fines a bunny suit that supposedly fits her needs. When Chizuru finally changes in to it, a bright light appears to shock both her and Tayura. Kouta and Akane have usual discussion in class, but they are interrupted by Chizuru in her bunny outfit. She exclaims to Kouta that she cannot get the suit off, but quickly decides to ask him what he thinks of her appearance afterwards.

When Chizuru visits the teachers in their office later, she finds that it will take them awhile to find a way to remove the outfit. Because of this, Chizuru is forced to wear the bunny suit around school throughout the day. Because Chizuru is stared at by all the boys in school as she walks through the halls, she runs to Kouta for help. Nozomu eventually pulls him away, however, causing the usual competition. Later that night, Chizuru has decided to stay with Kouta for the night. She soon finds that Nozomu has found her way there as well, however, along with the rest of the usual friends. That night, the bunny suit begins to glow.

The next morning, Kouta finds that Chizuru seems a bit tired. She puts it off as nothing, as she and Nozomu begin to argue again. Chizuru eventually loses her strength despite her insisting that she is fine, forcing the group to take her to the infirmary. Meanwhile, the teachers explain to Nozomu and Tayura that the bunny suit was created by a woman named Joroguma, and that the suit is slowly absorbing Chizuru’s life force. Back in the infirmary, Akane decides that they should just cut the outfit off of Chizuru. When she tries, however, she ends up in a nurse outfit herself. When Tayura and Nozomu enter to warn Chizuru of her situation, the bunny suit takes control and begins flying through the school. While this happens, all of the girls in the halls are forced into various cosplay.

Kouta and the others eventually run into Yatsuka, who explains how troublesome the outfit would become. With this, Nozomu leads Tayura and Kouta in the right direction. When the group finds Chizuru outside, they find that the bunny suit has already revealed who she truly is. With this, the girls around the area are used as weapons against the boys. Tayura is easily defeated by his own fault, as Nozomu appears have Kouta to herself. When Omi shows up, he decides that blowing the clothes off the women would solve their problem. However, the bunny suit decides to take it a step further by making the girls completely naked before taking off.

In the aftermath, it is revealed that Joroguma’s soul is within the bunny suit. As she is using Chizuru’s body for her goals, Chizuru would be in trouble if they did not stop Joroguma. In the school gym, Joroguma has Chizuru change into a wedding dress. When Chizuru retaliates, she finds that she has lost all of her energy to do so. Kouta appears just in time to run to Chizuru’s side, getting past Joroguma with a bit of Omi’s help. With a kiss, Kouta and Chizuru combine once again. The two generate a single ball of energy to successfully defeat Joroguma, smiling to each other afterwards. Everything around the school returns to normal in the aftermath, and Chizuru is again forced to chase an embarrassed Kouta during their walk home. In other places, Nozomu’s brother Saku rides on his motorcycle.

Okay, yea this is late. My roommate was here this weekend and I happened to want to keep my completely non otaku appearance intact. All of you spammers can go suck on a feel good tail. Yea, that means Aroduc and you commenters who thinks it’s funny to spam my other fanservice anime posts while I’m sleeping. Suck a furry tail, alright!

Anyways, “omg wtf this episode was awsum.” LOVE POWER! They actually said it too. Some of the funniest parts of this episode included Yuki wondering when she had become a “henshin shoujo” and Chizuru finding Nozomu in Kouta’s closet. That totally gave me DearS vibes, and that being my favorite love comedy ever, it definitely clicked with me. I’m also glad that the ecchi levels were turned down just a bit this episode. Yes, there were still naked girls, but at least there was less implied sex. Some people have even started to call this softcore after last week. The first part of this episode was kind of risque for those who are actually into it, but I’ve really never understood the gym clothes thing. There’s not much to say about Joroguma’s role. She was just kind of there to make another silly episodic plot move along. I do like the way she spoke though. In other news, the OP and ED for this show came out earlier this week. They’re okay I guess. But yet again, these are the types of songs I wouldn’t listen to outside of the anime. I’ll finally be done with finals and back home after next week, so maybe I’ll come up with a more timely post then.

Summary:

Tayura prepares breakfast in the Minamoto household while Chizuru spends a long time in the tub as usual. When Tayura hears knocking at the door, he answers to find Nozomu outside. When Kouta wakes up in his house, he is soon greeted by Chizuru who has prepared breakfast for him. She has secretly done this to get ahead of Nozomu, but Kouta has a difficult time enjoying the food when he tries it. Chizuru apologizes to Kouta for the mistakes she made while walking to school with him, but he only attempts to cheer her up. Kouta worries about Chizuru when he sees that she has bandages on her fingers, but quickly becomes embarrassed after comforting her. While Kouta is only a few steps away from Chizuru, Nozomu comes crashing into him. Nozomu tells Kouta off with a bit of charm, before quickly leaving ahead for school.

Upon reaching the school, Nozomu acts as if she has never met Kouta before. When Chizuru confronts her, Nozomu only insists that her relationship with Kouta isn’t what it appears to be. As the rest of the students can see how ridiculous this situation is, Tayura admits to have given Nozomu some advice from the book that Chizuru had been reading. Already suspecting this, Chizuru gives her usual punishment to her brother. During lunch, Chizuru and Nozomu both present lunches to Kouta. He has trouble choosing, but eventually takes a bite out of both at the same time. This results in his collapsing, however, to the excitement of his watching classmates. Yatsuka scolds both of the girls later, but he is interrupted by the entrance of Kumada and his usual followers. Kumada warns the girls of their interaction with humans, then denying the problems that Yatsuka implies that he is causing. Chizuru and Nozomu greet Kouta when he is released from the infirmary, but they are quick to ask which of the meals he enjoyed more. As Kouta is indecisive, he is forced to participate in another challenge. Of course, this only results in his passing out again.

Chizuru places all of the blame on her brother while they are at home that night, forcing him to pay compensation. Kouta faces another challenge at school the next day, but it is obvious that both of the foods presented are inedible. Chizuru has the girls in class sample her cooking later, resulting in a bad end for three of them. When the twins Rin and Ai try the food, however, they believe that it is very delicious. Tayura finds that Kouta is oblivious as to why Chizuru is acting so differently in the infirmary later, when Chizuru appears again to cause even more trouble for him. When Akane meets Kouta on the school rooftop later, she blames the recent events on Kouta’s indecisiveness. She tells him to clearly state what is bad to the girls, further implying that he is a hypocrite.

Kouta attempts to have a talk with Chizuru alone later, but the two are interrupted by Omi who sends a blast in Chizuru’s direction shortly after confronting them. This blast only hits Kouta, making Omi panic at the pinch he would be in if Kouta was injured. This makes Mio suggest that they will do anything, taking her and Chizuru to the school gymnasium. Inside, Chizuru begins rubbing Kouta with her body in order to help him heal. Nozomu suddenly appears to do this as well, however, stating that she followed Kouta’s smell. Kouta regains consciousness, but not for long as he only passes out after seeing the situation he is in.

As the food challenges continue on the next day, Chizuru reaches her limit with Nozomu. When Chizuru pushes Nozomu down, Kouta attempts to stop her. Remembering Akane’s words from before, he makes an attempt to scold Chizuru. He accidentally bites his tongue, but Chizuru still runs out in tears after hearing his words. When Kouta finally finds Chizuru, she drags him into an empty room with her. Chizuru states that Kouta’s actions made her happy, then suggesting that he can do anything to punish her. Kouta eventually comes to the conclusion that he will give Chizuru a spanking, but he becomes shocked when she lowers her panties in order for him to do this to her. Kouta finally gives Chizuru a good spanking, but this isn’t enough for her. Chizuru lets Kouta abuse her even more, resulting in quite a few more spanks throughout the afternoon.

You guys can thank my dorm’s fire alarm for waking me so that I could do this post a few hours earlier today. Yea…terrible, right? So anyways, this episode played on the bento theme that was suggested in the last week’s preview. It went on for a lot longer than I expected it would, but there were a few twists that made it pretty entertaining. As typical as the “girls who can’t cook” challenges are, Kanokon managed to make it quite fun. Even funnier was Nozomu trying to act like a tsundere early in the episode, as it looked like it came straight out of a crappy bishoujo anime. I’d probably agree with Aroduc that the rest of the episode quickly took a turn into the dirty depths though. I think I suggested something like, “This show is almost hentai with a budget.” while watching how much of a secret pervert Kouta was. And from the looks of the next episode preview, it looks like we’ll be going through 12 episodes of love comedy action and dirty fanservice. I was wondering where all the plot went from the drama CD, novels, manga, etc, but now I’m certain that all of the events in the anime are happening quite later in the timeline. Hey, I’m fine with that. But now I’m feeling really exhausted. I should probably get to sleeping.
