YES, it’s finally over!!! My final impression is included.

Summary:

When Reika wakes in her dream world, she wonders where she is. As Ninomiya and his friends reach the Neverland theme park, they notice that it has gone to ruin. Despite his friends’ desire to help, Ninimoya insists on going inside alone. Mayu has found an attraction in ruins, but she plays out how it would have been done to herself. Remembering the fun times she had in the past, Mayu wonders why things have come to this. Ninomiya finds Mayu in tears, and catches her before she can run away. Ninomiya tries to converse with Mayu, but she can only wonder why he has come. She realizes that this means he has remembered his past, and brings up the events that happened. Mayu was very happy when Reika and Ninomiya made their promise, but she was very distraught when Reika was taken away. Ninomiya remained kind to Mayu, but her succubus necessities began to show. Mayu believes that she liked Ninomiya even back then, which was why she was unable to take his life force. Mayu believed that it would be ok for her to get a kiss after she died, but she was interrupted before she could give Ninomiya her instructions.

Reika had returned from a long absence, with the promised tickets to Neverland. Mayu insisted that Reika and Ninomiya go on their own, but she collapsed soon after they left. When Ninomiya found her after returning, he believed that a kiss from a prince would revive her. This lead to their kiss, and Mayu’s revival. In the present time, Ninomiya realizes that Mayu has returning symptoms. He attempts to kiss her, but Mayu stops him. She believes that Reika would be sad if he lost his memories again, and Reika appears above to confirm this. Reminding Mayu that she has not told all the details, Reika goes on to reveal what happened after the childhood kiss. Mayu had certainly revived, but she continued to suck the life force out of Ninomiya. Both collapsed afterwards, while Ryoko and Mikihiko arrived. That was when Reika’s personality split into two. Reika wonders which path Ninomiya will choose, but he only calls her a pitiful person. He prepares to take the action the real Reika would know he would, causing pain for the Reika above. Hosaka begins to attack Ninomiya due to Reika’s orders, while Reika approaches a crying child in her dream world.

While continuing to fight Ninomiya, Hosaka wonders why he plans on repeating the past. Ninomiya declares that it will not be the same, while Reika struggles with herself. When the younger Reika reveals that she is crying because she cannot obtain what she wants, Reika tells her that she would be able to obtain anything she wanted. She goes on to explain the struggles she went to through to be with Ninomiya, causing the younger her to finally laugh. Reika then realizes that this girl is the other self she created. Reika apologizes while embracing her other self, as she disappears. Reika saves Ninomiya from a falling chandelier in Neverland, kissing him afterwards. This makes Ninomiya realize that Reika has returned to normal. Reika orders Hosaka to stop, but he refuses. Hosaka and Ninomiya charge towards each other for a final blow, but it is revealed that Mayu has stopped Hosaka’s punch in order for Ninomiya to win. Mayu tells Ninomiya to keep his promise with Reika while in his arms, fainting quickly after.

Ninomiya declares that there is still time, but Reika moves in to stop him from kissing Mayu. This causes Reika to fall onto Mayu, kissing her in the process. With this, Mayu is revived to her usual self. Ryoko and Mikihiko witness this from above in an empty ferris wheel, suspecting that things would return to normal. With the help of Ninomiya’s friends, the theme park is brought back to life. Mayu expresses to Ninomiya and Reika that they would be able to keep their promise, while Irori and Tasuku watch from above as she drags them off. Elsewhere, a defeated Hosaka is helped by his rival Shinobu. When the group returns to the Ninomiya mansion, things have all returned to normal. At school later, Mayu thinks to herself that she will be able to kiss Ninomiya normally in the future. When Ninomiya is called by Hinako, he turns to accidentally lock lips with Mayu. This makes him faint, as everyone attempts to help him. When Ninomiya regains consciousness, he finds Hosaka there to help him up. He gives his condolences to Ninomiya, as Mayu and Reika run towards him.

Impression:

Ah, where to start? This episode totally felt out of place and forced. Reika’s inner world was kind of cool, but I still can’t help but feel like it was taken straight out of another anime. I could say the same thing about Neverland’s destroyed appearance. I think the atmosphere was suppose to be really dramatic, but I couldn’t take any of it seriously after all of the previous events up to this point. The cliched things like Ninomiya catching Mayu’s arm and Mayu’s leaving Ninomiya and Reika with her back to the wall were well…..cliched. Watching Reika interact with her inner loli was kind of fun, and I couldn’t help but notice those “inconsistencies” again. I guess we had bad production to the end! Hosaka’s fight with Ninomiya was ridiculous, as was his reason for fighting. I totally saw Mayu’s kiss with Reika coming, along with the “life goes on” ending. Including “Goshusho-sama” was kind of a nice touch tough. By the way, who else noticed the touchiness with Ryoko and Mikihiko? Won’t that cause complication later on for Ninomiya? Ha, I guess we’ll never know. On to the final impression!

Final Impression:

So what would I label this show as? Probably the biggest disappointment of the season. Before the fall season started, I had most of my hopes on this show as the only love comedy airing. I even changed the banners on my site for the occasion. Quickly noticing the horrible production and low potential from episode one, I still refused to give up on the show. What a mistake. From start to finish, Goshusho-sama Ninomiya-kun was a train wreck waiting to happen. Without any deep plot in the beginning, the only thing the show had going for it was fanservice. Yes, many people appreciated it for that. Too bad I’m not that retarded. Even worse, they made an attempt to insert plot at the very end. This felt ridiculously out of place, forced, and just plain dumb. If this is suppose to be a mindless fanservice comedy, at least keep it that way. Kurogane praised this show for being reminiscent of similar shows that have been missing from season line-ups for awhile, but in my opinion, all those old shows sucked anyways.

So what kept me watching this very bad series? First would probably be my unwillingness to drop the only clear love comedy of the season. I would have watched this show whether I blogged it or not eventually, as I have a strange hobby of watching a ton of horrible harem comedies. The second reason would be, well, Reika. Am I a hypocrite? Maybe. Quite a few people appreciated this show because of what I suspect to be low expectations, but I’m with Aroduc. The only thing that would make this show slightly more enjoyable would probably be heavy drinking. Anyways, the bottom line is that I will watch a series all the way through before giving it proper judgement (unlike some people). Ninomiya-kun might be a fun series to watch if you feel like wasting your time, but otherwise, do yourself a favor and watch something else.

Oh god, Reika is hot.

Summary:

After reading through tabloids, Mayu attempts to convince Ninomiya that aliens exist. While Ninomiya refuses to believe her, Ryoko investigates on her own the true existence of them. By the time she returns, however, Mayu still has trouble convincing anyone of the aliens’ existence. Reika is tormented by her inner self, and she is put to sleep when she sees a vision of her younger state. The Ninomiya mansion has been left to ruin, and Ninomiya’s classmates cannot find anyone there. Ninomiya has been trapped in a cell, but he is surprised when Hosaka appears to let him out. While riding in a car with Hosaka, Ninomiya discovers that Ryoko and Mikihiko have been labeled as terrorists thanks to Reika’s influence on the mass media. When the two arrive at their destination, Ninomiya recognizes that he is in the neighborhood where he spent his childhood. After following returning visions of himself with Reika and Mayu, he stops at the apartment he once stayed in. Inside, he finds Reika who confirms that he lived with herself and Mayu 10 years ago.

Reika then reminds Ninomiya of how he met her. Ninomiya had offered Tasuku and his group of bullies an important pendant of his in order to make them leave Reika alone, so Reika followed Ninomiya to his apartment. With this, the two began living together. Reika then reveals the pendant to Ninomiya, reminding him of how they met Mayu. Ninomiya was being beat up by Tasuku and crew, when Mayu appeared to save him. Mayu was very energetic during those days, and quite different from her image in the present. The three lived cheerfully for awhile, but the day came where Reika had to leave. After she shared a kiss with Ninomiya, she made him promise not to forget her. Ninomiya gave Reika his parents’ pendant, before confirming his promise. However, Reika reveals that Mayu was the one to cloud Ninomiya’s memory. Ninomiya’s starts having trouble with his body, as he discovers that this version of Reika has her own plans for Mayu. As Ninomiya passes out, Reika declares that she will not hand him over to anyone.

Mayu had expressed her wish to live in a castle while reading through a book in the past, so Reika came up with the idea of visiting a theme park that had a castle in it. When Ninomiya wakes, he finds himself trapped in an unfamiliar room. Reika appears to seduce Ninomiya, and he notices her use of succubus’ powers. Reika is interrupted at the entrance of intruders, however, and Irori and Tasuku show themselves to Ninomiya in her absence. As the two help Ninomiya escape, they wonder if Ninomiya has kissed Mayu. They reveal their knowledge as fellow succubus, and suggest their belief that Mayu will soon lose liveliness. When Ninomiya discovers that Mayu will die if she does not have any, he quickly starts running in panic. Reika stops Ninomiya, and reveals that she also knows what will happen to Mayu. She offers to help find her, but in exchange, Ninomiya would have to become hers. Ninomiya starts to agree, but Shinobu quickly breaks into the scene. She has Ninomiya hurry, and Ryoko and Mikihiko show themselves quickly afterwards. In the chaos, Ninomiya is met by his friends. Getting in their car, he requests that they go to the Neverland theme park. Elsewhere, Mayu has found herself at that very place.

Impression:

So bad that it’s hilariously good. The prediction I had from the beginning is proving to be true, isn’t it? Everything was finally revealed in this episode, but unlike with Touka Gettan, I was not impressed with the revelations at all. I hate the squeaky voices enough, and having to hear more of it just made me sick. I did laugh at Reika’s stuck up loli form and Mayu’s beating up of everyone though. As I’ve concluded through my past impressions though, the only thing this show is worth watching for is Reika anyways. With that said, the pain and suffering was totally worth it. Psycho personality shifts are SO hot! I wasn’t much for seeing Ninomiya strapped to a bed though, and Reika’s fighting with her inner self made me go, “Haven’t I seen this before?” The end of this episode was totally over the top, with hilarious results. I actually shouted for joy when Irori and Tasuku showed up, in cheesy hero suits and all. The fighting anime vibes showed up again with Shinobu’s entrance as well, and the Ryoko and Mikihiko team is always ridiculous. I loved Ryoko’s expression when she saw Ninomiya with the two girls in the past. She was like, “Haha, kid’s got a harem!” Ah, I can’t help but think about how conveniently things happen in this show. Next week’s the finale, so be ready for a final impression along with a mountain of other ones. I am so excited that there is only one episode left, and for all the wrong reasons.

Ninjas? In MY fanservice anime?

Summary:

While waiting for a date with Mayu, Hinako notices many large breasted women around her. She also notices Mayu’s own big boobs when she finally arrives, as well as her eating habits while they enjoy themselves around town. When Hinako starts crying about her situation, Mayu can only attempt to comfort her. In the aftermath of Iori’s kiss with Ninomiya, Mayu remembers a bit of her past. Ninomiya, Reika, and Mayu had also spent time together as children, and Ninomiya passed out when a similar event occurred. Mayu realizes that it was her fault back then, as Reika and the others take Ninomiya to safety. During free time the next day, Ninomiya wonders why Irori kissed him. He guesses that his dizzy feeling was a result of a succubus’ power, but he is unable to remember when he had a similar thing happen to him in the past. Irori runs into a plotting Tasuku not too far away, before approaching Ninomiya again. Tasuku requests to spend time with Mayu when he sees her, but Mayu is unable to accept his offer. Mayu quickly takes Ninomiya away from Irori, and invites Reika to play as well. Mayu reveals that the three of them spent time together like this in the past, and assures the two that it would be fun to do so again. Mayu drags Ninomiya and Reika to places where they can enjoy themselves, so they can only smile at her actions. Elsewhere, Tasuku mentions that the trio has not changed at all. Irori is not pleased with her brother’s sticking with the past, while Shinobu and Mitsuru follow Reika in secret.

When Mayu finally calls Ninomiya by his first name and Ninomiya sees Reika cleaning off Mayu’s mouth, he finally remembers the time he spent with the two in the past. Mayu and Reika have fun dressing up later, but they run away with Ninomiya when they encounter a group of ninjas. Ninomiya carries Mayu on his back when she can no longer keep up, and Shinobu appears to do the same for Reika. Tasuku finally reveals that he is behind the ninjas, and goes on to mention his revenge against Ninomiya for what happened 10 years ago. As the two groups engage in battle, Ninomiya finally realizes that Tasuku was one of the kids who beat him up in the past. More fighting ensues as Ninomiya’s allies arrive, but the fighting finally stops at the appearance of Irori. Tasuku does not want Irori to get in his way, but she shuts him up by giving him a kiss. Irori reveals that she only liked Tasuku from the beginning, as all the fighting comes to an end. On the way home via helicopter, Reika’s other self takes over. Shinobu wonders what is happening, but she is thrown out above the ocean by Mitsuru before she can learn more. Ninomiya wakes up in his home to find shocking news about Ryoko and Mikihiko in the paper. As invaders appear to capture him, a letter with an apology and farewell lays in Mayu’s room.

Impression:

Ninjas. Seriously, I know it’s typical lovcom to insert random plot in the last two episodes, but ninjas!? You’ve gotta come up with something better than that. Honestly though, I actually enjoyed this episode. It was really fun to watch Mayu and Reika get along without the stupid fanservice inserts. The fighting was also pretty cool, and I’m sure a certain someone was excited about that (pssh, fighting anime). I find it pretty funny that as strong as Ninomiya is, he’s totally weak against girls. Irori kissing Tasuku was a really strange twist, as I thought the two were siblings. They do have the same last name. Is it incest week for anime or something? The preview for next week’s episode actually has me really excited, and if you’ve been keeping up with my posts at all, you probably know why.

EDIT: OH, and what’s up with the inconsistent size of Reika’s boobs? Come on.

You know what hot springs mean right?

Summary:

In order to prevent Reika from working so hard, Shinobu does all of the cleaning chores in the Ninomiya household. Reika praises her work when she arrives home, but quickly becomes angry at Mayu’s preparing dinner for Ninomiya. Shinobu strikes at Ninomiya, in anger of his getting between herself and Reika. Ninomiya’s class seems to enjoy themselves on a school trip, but the boys are causing more trouble than they should be. When Ninomiya asks the teacher to do something about this, she only leaves all the work to him before going back to sleep. Irori meets with Ninomiya and invites him to play afterwards, as Mayu watches from a distance. Mayu is greeted by Tasuku soon after, who wishes to spend time with her later. Ninomiya notices Mayu talking to Tasuku, but he is pulled away by Irori before he can do anything. Elsewhere, Reika spies on Ninomiya as usual. She, Mitsuru, and Shinobu are conveniently there by “coincidence”, and Reika has already made plans. Ninomiya runs into Mayu on the way to the bath, and both of them have things they would like to express. An awkward moment is caused when both of them try to talk at once, but neither of them are able to get their feelings across when Taichi and Heisuke take Ninomiya away. Hinako causes some trouble for Mayu when she arrives in the bath, removing her towel for everyone to see. In the boys’ bath, Ninomiya is forced to go on a mission with Taichi and Heisuke. When he reaches the top of a cliff despite the various obstacles, he finds Reika in her private bath. As she lets out a scream, Ninomiya falls just like the rest of the boys.

Tasuku had met Ninomiya and Mayu in the past, but he was left alone quickly afterwards. Behind him was a lone girl. In the present, he promises to get revenge for that time. In other places that night, Hinako brings up the trip’s tradition to Mayu. She explains that boys go to the girls’ room to commit yobai, and asks Mayu what she would do if Ninomiya went to her. Hinako soon puts this off as a joke, but Mayu is still nervous about meeting with Ninomiya. While the girls continue discussion, Irori slips out of the room. Various boys are caught trying to sneak into the girls’ room, but they all fail miserably. Ninomiya receives a call from Tasuku while in the boys’ room, who threatens that he will be committing yobai to Mayu. Seeing that Tasuku is not normal, all of the boys gather together to lend their aid to Ninomiya. With Taichi and Heisuke’s help, Ninomiya stealthily makes his way to the girls’ room. Taichi and Heisuke believe that this will make Ninomiya a more interesting person, and their teacher secretly agrees. Ninomiya finally meets Tasuku in the hall, but he is captured by possessed girls. Tasuku brings up his payback, but Ninomiya has long forgotten about his past. The lights suddenly go off throughout the entire building, giving Ninomiya the chance to escape. He is soon caught, however, by Irori who gives him a kiss. Mayu and Reika have also left their rooms during the blackout, and they witness Irori and Ninomiya’s kiss when the lights are turned back on. Reika quickly rushes to aid the now drained Ninomiya, while Mayu despairs to herself.

Great, another succubus. So, it was totally obvious that Tasuku was Irori’s brother the first time I saw him. It was confirmed in this episode, as the two have the same last names. Irori’s kissing of Ninomiya wasn’t exactly surprising, and Ninomiya’s past still hasn’t gotten any more exciting. I got a lot of Girl’s Bravo vibes from this episode though (yes, more than usual), with all the brother and sister plotting. The possessed girls also reminded me of something that I can’t quite put my finger on (Wow, I’ve watched way too many bad love comedies). I’m kind of disgusted at how much the girls in this show were actually looking forward to yobai. What a bunch of sluts! Is it even hot when it gets to that point? I was also wondering the other day why so many people are watching this show. I was wondering why I was watching this show. I even remembered how much hope I had for this show before the season started by looking up at my site’s current headers (yea, I forget about those).

None of you care about any of that though. This episode was total fanservice, and if it wasn’t, something would have been wrong! I mean, it’s the hot springs episode. The were plenty of girls’ love vibes with Hinako and Shinobu as usual, and of course, about every girl was shown in the springs. Reika did get more screen time in this episode, but it still didn’t seem like a lot. They’ve easily made Mayu the main girl, putting everyone else to the side. I’m not sure how that works out, since all the promotional art has both Mayu and Reika in them. Come on! There was a bit of cheap humor in this episode with the MGS parody. I actually just got a wii this week, and seeing Snake made me think of Smash Bros. Who else is ready for that?I’m actually kind of looking forward to more kansai next week, if not more Reika. The OP and ED are also out, and I pretty much have the same feelings about those as I do from the actual show.

If Reika were here…

Summary:

As big breasts are no longer accepted because of Reika’s actions, Mayu attempts to make hers appear smaller by wrapping them up. However, after being called by Ninomiya, she finds that it isn’t successful as she originally thought. Ryoko is enjoying herself outside, but she suddenly becomes hungry. Calling out to her brother, she demands ramen from Ninomiya. Mayu offers help to Ninomiya when they meet in front of the kitchen, but none of her suggestions will quite work. Ninomiya starts looking for things to use for the ramen, as he expresses how nice it would be for the all able Reika to be there. Unfortunately, she is at a business meeting. Mayu calls Ninomiya to show him a recipe she has found online, but she becomes nervous when Ninomiya gets inside her personal space. Mayu starts helping Ninomiya prepare his sister’s meal, but Ryoko continues to be impatient. Mayu finds even more details on the site she is visiting, so Ninomiya sets out to get more ingredients. Ninomiya leaves part of the meal preparation up to Mayu in his absence, but she has a bit of difficulty stirring the soup. To get help, she makes a call to her usual source.

Ninomiya is surprised to find Mikihiko at the granary he arrives at, but he is offered the ingredients he needs all the same. Meanwhile, Hinako has arrived to help Mayu with the soup. Finding that it is extremely hot, Hinako generates a combination of clothing to help relieve herself. Hinako also wants Mayu to wear the swimsuit apron combo, but she resists. Ninomiya finds Mikihiko again when he reaches a ranch, and is again given a ridiculous task for the ingredients he needs. Irori arrives at the Ninomiya household, with business dealing with the school trip. She finds Mayu and Hinako in a very misleading situation, and gets dragged in as well. Ninomiya has begun to realize the pattern when he finds Mikihiko again, but he still goes on to catch a giant fish. Shinobu has been left at Ninomiya’s house in Reika’s absence, but she makes the mistake of walking into the kitchen. The girls have all lost their senses by the time Ninomiya reaches home, but he finally has the ramen made. When Ninomiya and the girls finally go out to present their creation to Ryoko, they are shocked to find that Reika has already arrived to offer her the new Hojo cup ramen. This satisfies Ryoko, but makes everyone else very angry. As everyone eats the good tasting ramen afterwards, Reika is left in her room with a bathing suit and apron on.

Preview: Hot springs episode. It wouldn’t have been a love comedy without it!

Impression:

…..then this episode would have been a lot better. That’s what you wanted to say right, Shungo? Wow, this episode made me feel dirty and dumb at the same time. How blatant can you get? They might as well have made this hentai (incoming traffic coming from “Ninomiya hentai” has now started). I mean, what the heck was this? Like, some sick soup stirring fetish? Going classic love comedy mode, they even managed to get every girl in a bathing suit and apron by the end of the episode. Added with random journeys for mysterious ingredients and an out of place request for ramen, this episode was enough to make anyone who thinks too hard lose brain cells. Well, at least it was nice to have the ability to laugh freely this week by being back at home for Thanksgiving. With that said, Mayu getting elbowed in the boobs was hilarious. Next week is the episode we’ve all been expecting, complete with Totali’s love comedy rule number one.

PS: Ramen is actually very bad for you. Don’t take anime’s example, kids!

You’re doing it wrong.

Summary:

Reika wonders what is wrong with her figure, but Mitsuru bluntly tells her that her boobs are small. He than suggests that she just change the standard, resulting in Reika converting the majority of people in the country. With this, the big boobed Mayu becomes the enemy. In a cold freezer, Ninomiya and Mayu begin to freeze. Ninomiya decides that he must massage Mayu to keep her warm, but he is hit on the head by Ryoko for doing it wrong. This is part of the usual filmmaking, but Reika bursts in to question Ninomiya’s actions. At school, even Mayu has become involved in the girls’ serving of Ninomiya. In the library later, Ninomiya questions his feelings toward Mayu and Reika. He wonders how he could have forgotten about such an important promise, and remembers the time that Reika had changed personalities. Mayu remembers the kiss from that time as she watches Ninomiya from afar, but she is shocked when she sees Okushiro Irori get closer to him. Mayu continues to try to get closer to Ninomiya after school, but Irori rubs up on him before she gets the chance. As Hinako comforts a despairing Mayu, a green haired boy laughs to himself at the sight.

Hinako reveals to Mayu that Irori is actually quite beautiful while walking home with her, and offers her help. Mayu declines, however, as she doesn’t not see any meaning if she does not confront her own problems. Mayu’s consciousness fades as Hinako leaves, but the boy from earlier catches her before she can hit the ground. Ninomiya finally sees Mayu at school after a few days of absence, but he is surprised to see her talking to another boy. Before he can learn more of the situation, he is captured by his friends. In a room surrounded by boys, Inoue and Yoshida reveal their plan to comit yobai with girls. Ninomiya is taken back when they suggest that he do it to Mayu, and he walks out of the school in a weakened state afterwards. The green haired boy with the red eyes claims that he will be taking Mayu, causing Ninomiya to collapse shortly after. Seeing this, Mayu quickly runs to his side.

At the Ninomiya household, Mayu and Reika discover from Ryoko that Ninomiya has become exhausted from a cold. Ryoko and Mikihiko soon leave, and Mayu despairs when she finds that Reika and the others must go for their own reasons as well. Reika attempts to force Mayu to get her act together, before leaving via helicopter. Mayu does her best to care for Ninomiya, but his fever will not go down. When Ninomiya realizes what is happening, he remembers another part of his past. While caring for a sick girl, she had instructed him to kiss her if she could not wake up. When Ninomiya lets out a scream, Mayu fears for his life. Through Hinako’s advice, Mayu prepares Ninomiya something to eat. Ninomiya finally eats the food after seeing how concerned Mayu is, but this causes other problems. Mayu gives a special shot to Ninomiya next, causing him even more pain. Unable to stop himself after Mayu’s actions later, Ninomiya embraces her. Mayu takes the chance to ask about his kiss with Reika, but she finds that he has passed out. Everyone returns at the same time later, finding Ninomiya in a misleading situation.

Impression:

First things first. Readers of my Seto no Hanayome posts may already know this, but I am a huge fan of kansai. I’m not that into megane, but I don’t think I would mind seeing more of Irori on screen from here on. That’s the thing about this show, they mix and match moe points like crazy. I guess it works for some people. This episode was pushing the limits on blatant fanservice, but I actually laughed quite a bit. “Yobai” is also known as “night crawling”, or sneaking into rooms at night to have sex with girls. No, I’m not kidding. I was kind of surprised to hear that term coming from my innocent cartoons. I was pretty annoyed by the return of the man harem at school, and Ninomiya walking out of the school looking violated was just disturbing. I mean, they bagged him like an unsuspecting Pamela. The whole thing with the guy going after Mayu is pretty dumb too. Considering that he has green hair and speaks kansai dialect, I’m assuming that he is related to Irori. The second half of the episode consisted only of Mayu fanservice and lame sexual jokes, so I wasn’t extremely excited about that (the bad cooking joke is getting old). It kills me when those dumb childhood past segments show up, because the presentation is just so horrible. Speaking of presentation, I love how the eye catch art is like five times better than the art in the show. Next week looks like a continuation of this “story”, so hopefully Reika won’t be missing in some random country again.

Summary:

Mayu decides to go on a diet after seeing her results on a scale. She disappoints Ninomiya when she will not eat his cooking, so she forces herself to eat. However, this puts her in despair as he offers more food for her to eat afterwards. Ninomiya, Reika, and Mayu find themselves trapped in a room on the island. Ninomiya is not extremely shocked about the situation because of the shady work his sister does, and Reika also believes that her having the Hojo name may have something to do with it. Mayu is only able to think about what she saw the previous night, but Ninomiya finally gets her attention. Reika expresses that it would be impossible to try to escape, as their opponents are obviously pros. Elsewhere, a soldier asks the white haired woman what their objective is. As the captain, she only orders him to get back to work, before preparing to make her own visit. Mitsuru manages to get past the guards, so he enters to help Ninomiya and the girls.

The group then wanders around the mansion they are in, with little new information on their captors. Mayu brings up the transmitter that Ryoko and Mikihiko mentioned, and she starts to search for it. However, after opening one of the doors, she is hit by the trap that is set there. It is not as harmful as it could have been, but Mitsuru isn’t as lucky when he opens another door. The captain reveals herself with the rest of her forces behind her, but Ninomiya is able to escape with the girls in his arms. Ninomiya knocks Reika out despite her resistance, and leaves her up to Mayu as he jumps back down to challenge their chasers. Ninomiya is able to single handedly take out many of the soldiers, but he is stopped by one woman in a strange mask.

Ninomiya finds himself tied to a chair when he regains his consciousness, and the white haired woman leaves him to be abused by the soldiers around him. While being punched in the face repeatedly, Ninomiya recalls a similar event that happened in his past. Reika wakes up to find herself in a cave, as Mayu runs to her in tears. After Reika learns of the current situation, the two girls set out to help Ninomiya. Mayu finds herself walking through numerous traps, until a soldier offers to help her. His good intentions are payed back with a log swinging into him, and many other soldiers suffer the same fate from Mayu’s trap triggering. Reika takes this chance to head to Ninomiya’s location, where she finds him in bruises. Reika begins crying over Ninomiya’s actions, recalling that he has always done things like this since childhood.

When Reika calls Ninomiya the onion man, memories of his past are triggered. Ninomiya had spent time with Reika and bought groceries for her, and they even shared a promise with a kiss. Ninomiya and Reika are interrupted in the present, when the masked woman knocks Reika out. Ninomiya begins attacking the masked woman, but she is on a different level than the other guards. While fighting, Ninomiya feels the same kind of power that arose when he fought in the past. Ninomiya finally breaks the woman’s mask, but he falls over when he finds that it is only his sister. In the aftermath, Reika and Mayu carry Ninomiya out of the mansion when they find that he is safe. Mikihiko wonders what the captain thought of Ninomiya, but she only takes her leave with a bit of embarrassment. The act is revealed to Reika and the others when they return to the Ninomiya household, and the captain also begins working as a maid. Her name is Kirishima Shinobu, a long servant of the Hojo family.

Impression:

Man, are you serious? This was just dumb. It was pretty easy to see that Shinobu was a part of some other plan when she referred to Reika as “oujosama”, but I didn’t think they would actually turn this entire episode into another plan set up by Ryoko and Mikihiko. Shinobu might bring some funny things to the table by being another maid under Ninomiya’s harem, but she can’t beat super maid Reika. I’m actually getting kind of tired of Mayu’s squeaky voice, and the trap scenes in this episode were just way too over the top. Also, how was Reika still standing when Ninomiya supposedly punched her out?

I admit that it was funny when the bunny girls’ (men’s?) father suddenly got knocked out though, along with the cheesiness of Ninomiya getting slapped in the face by Shinobu. I also laughed at Mayu and Reika being in the cave, because I was suddenly reminded of Sola (he’s mine b*tch! Hahaha!!). I really hate the random and continuous inserts of Ninomiya and the girls’ past, especially since the child’s voices sound like they were just spit out by vocaloid or something. Haha, “Negi Otoko”. I keep forgetting that Ninomiya is actually inhumanly strong like his ridiculous sister, and the fight scenes were actually decent in this episode. Did anyone else notice the white horns Reika had during the eyecatch? Just throwing that out there!

A Reika in a bathing suit is fine too.

Summary:

Reika finds Mayu’s doujin hidden behind a shelf while cleaning. She expresses her distaste with such a thing, but soon takes it back out to look through it. Later at a convention, she has started selling her own doujin with the help of Mitsuru. Ninomiya wonders what is going on when he finds himself on an island with the girls, so Ryoko explains that they are on the Minami island for a vacation. He cannot readily accept this, but Mayu asks him to ride on a boat with her. Mayu gets into a typical touchy situation with Ninomiya during the ride, so she begins apologizing. Ninomiya tells her not to worry about things like that, since they have come all the way out to relax. Mayu then asks if Ninomiya will play with her, and he agrees. Reika watches the two from afar as usual, as Mitsuru suggests a plan.

Ninomiya is waken from his typical dream by Mayu in a bathing suit, as she asks for him to put lotion on her back. He prepares to do so, but he is interrupted by Reika’s call. Reika is in the forest with a very skimpy bathing suit on, and she has Ninomiya lotion her back for her. This doesn’t go exactly as planned, so Reika continues to interrupt May and Ninomiya throughout the day. Seeing that things do not go well, Reika runs away. When Mitsuru appears to comfort her, they begin discussing the night’s stars and the full moon. Elsewhere, a woman commands a vessel towards Ninomiya’s location. Ninomiya finds Mayu watching the sunset outside, as she expresses the wonderful things that she has experienced throughout the day. Mayu readily agrees to Ninomiya’s offer to watch the stars with him that night, but this displeases Reika who has been watching from afar.

Ninomiya finds that his sister and Mikihiko have left the island, as the remaining group prepares to eat dinner. When he finds that Reika is missing, he sets out to find her. However, this isn’t before Mitsuru questions his actions. Mitsuru suggests that Ninomiya doesn’t realize Reika’s feelings as he sets off, and Mayu follows. As Reika wanders around the island by herself, she hears a voice inside of her questioning her true intentions. Reika despairs that she would not be able to keep her promise, even though Ninomiya does not remember what happened in the past. Ninomiya finally finds Reika, and notices that she is injured. He offers his back for her to ride, but Reika’s other side takes this chance to take over.

This other Reika explains that she knows everything about Ninomiya and the promise he made with her in the past. Ninomiya realizes that Reika must be a succubus like Mayu, as Reika forces Ninomiya to advance on her. Her time runs out before he can kiss her, however, and she passes out. Finding her in a dire state, Ninomiya plans to offer his life force to help her. As he kisses her, Mayu witnesses from a distance. A team of black suited people surround Reika and Ninomiya soon afterwards, as they also hold Mayu captured.

Woah! Reika is hot! Just to let everyone know, I am a total sucker for dramatic personality changes and dual personalities. I was about to flame the poor writing and animation of this episode again, but the ending completely saved that. I usually like the dumb main female leads, but now I’m all for Reika. Wow, that was so awesome. Yea, I say that I don’t watch anime for fanservice, but I guess I have to call that “visual” fanservice. Mental fanservice is a very different story. Haha, does that even make sense? Probably not, since I am busy obsessing over Reika’s awesomeness right now. I’m actually really surprised that she is a succubus. Before the show started, I thought the biggest twist was going to be her being Ninomiya’s maid. Mitsuru also seems to have another side of himself, but I could care less about that guy. It’s funny how Reika cannot remember what happened with her other self. I’m definitely getting Mahoraba vibes right now. Well, besides Reika, this episode was really mediocre as usual. Ryoko and Mikihiko are still far from being likable, and Ninomiya’s typical denseness is pretty annoying. The woman commanding the submarine in this episode is obviously the girl being shown in the ED, so next week should be somewhat fun.

Leave the maid work to Reika.

Summary:

After reading through the doujin Hinako gave her, Mayu decides to make her own. This continues throughout the night, but Hinako does not approve of it when she sees it the next day. At the Ninomiya household, Reika overhears Mayu and Ninomiya while cleaning. The two have been playing twister, but they end up failing despite their efforts. After getting scolded by Ryoko, Ninomiya promises that he will do his best to help Mayu. This causes Reika to drop a vase in her frustration, making Ryoko punish her in a seducing way. Reika continues to let off her frustration throughout the day and at school, until Mitsuru sees through her as usual. Reika believes that she wouldn’t feel this way if she did not remember an event from the past with Ninomiya, but she causes a stock market problem while she is thinking about it.

Reika finds Ninomiya in a sleeping state when she returns to his home. Ninomiya is having another dream of the young girl he spent time with in the past, and he screams in his wake after wondering who she is. Reika finds that he is holding on to her hand, so he quickly apologizes. Ninomiya almost gets closer to Reika, but he is soon brought out by Ryoko and Mikihiko. Finding herself alone with Reika, Mayu offer to help with cleaning. She is quickly shot down, so she begins playing with various objects. She expresses to an angry Reika that she is only trying to help, but she only creates a bigger mess. Elsewhere, Ninomiya is having combat training under Mikihiko and Ryoko.

Now in maid garment, Mayu continues to insist on helping Reika. This doesn’t help at all, as Reika forces her to clean up the messes that she has made. The two discover a hidden passage by coincidence, and both end up falling in. The two attempt to make their way out, but they are detected by the sensors that have been set up there. This causes various obstacles for the girls, until they finally manage to escape somewhere in the area. Mayu accidentally presses yet another button, but only a storeroom is revealed this time. Inside, they find a lot of Ninomiya’s belongings. Reika finds a picture of a younger Ninomiya, which makes her recall the memories she had of him. Mayu reveals to Reika that she had a boy she liked in the past, and that she had a sickness which caused her to forget a lot of her memories. Mayu explains that she cannot remember anything about the boy she liked, but finds a familiar box soon afterwards. Reika warns Mayu not to open the box, as it looks so suspicious, but it falls open anyways. With this, the girls are dropped into the bathroom below. Angered at their actions, Ryoko sends the two away for punishment.

Ok, I am so done flaming on this show…for this episode anyways. I’ve pretty much come to expect the bad animation and ridiculously obvious plot already, so I’ve got other things to search for. The short segment before the OP with Mayu drawing yaoi was hilarious. Mayu is such a perv! The blatant fanservice was all over the place as usual, but it was actually funny this time. Considering that I’m the type that can’t watch an anime purely for fanservice, this was a nice change of pace. I’m really liking Reika more and more, and after this episode, I’m expecting a harem ending more than anything. Mayu and Reika seem to be a bit closer after the house events too. They remind me of Miu and Ren from DearS. The complete randomness of this show seems to have settled in for me as well, and I actually laughed when Mayu and Reika got taken away in the end. I’m looking forward to next week’s episode, so hopefully I won’t have to blog it a day late again.

Summary:

Reika fixes her hair before going out for her first day as a maid in Ninomiya’s house, as Mitsuru sees through her true intentions. Ninomiya wakes from another childhood dream, where he shared a kiss with a girl and took responsibility for it. He is scolded again after pushing Mayu away, as the two were in the middle of one of Ryoko’s recordings. This continues outside, but Reika passes her limit when she finds the two in the bathroom. After causing a risky situation, Reika scolds Mayu for her actions. However, Mayu doesn’t belief that her actions are meaningless as Reika suggests.

At school, Ninomiya and Mayu have their regular problems with the class. One student in particular, Ayakawa Hinako, notices something when Mayu attempts to defend Ninomiya. A spying Reika also formulates a plan after seeing how Mayu reacts to men. Ninomiya prepares to go home with Mayu, but he is called upon to help by a girl named Okushiro. While he is away, Mayu is also confronted by Hinako. After walking some distance from the classroom, Ninomiya finds that Okushiro only wanted to give him a paper for a school trip. Ninomiya wonders why she would do such a thing as he runs back to the classroom, but he is stopped by Mikihiko. He tells Ninomiya that Mayu has left with someone already, and warns him of the consequences if something were to happen to his sister.

Hinako wonders why all of the men around are looking at Mayu so much as she walks through the town with her, and expresses to a confused Mayu that she only wanted to talk to her. Reika, who has been watching them from afar, soon puts her plan into motion. Hinako takes Mayu to a store to try on bras, as she notices how timid she is and how hard it must be for Ninomiya. They prepare to go somewhere else, but they are stopped by a group of perverted men. Ninomiya enters the shop after hearing Mayu’s scream, and he is caught in the mess. The two girls seemingly escape to another shop, but they find the same situation there. Ninomiya saves Mayu again, as Reika’s plans continue to fail throughout the day.

Hinako finds that she still hasn’t found anything out about Mayu by the end of the day, but she surprisingly discovers her interest in a certain game. Because she was also once interested in this, Hinako shares her knowledge with Mayu and becomes friends with her. Mayu promises to call Hinako by her first name as they leave the bench they were sitting on, while Ninomiya comes out of hiding behind them with a smile. Reika who was also there, asks Ninomiya why he would do so much for Mayu. He wonders about this himself, before suggesting that they all go home. The next day at school, Hinako gives Mayu some presents. However, this causes some trouble with the teacher as Mayu does not want her to see the contents of the bag.

ED: “Furefurepponpon! (ふれふれっぽんぽん！)” by Mai Kadowaki & Miyuki Sawashiro – Woah, cheerleaders!! The song has the same poppy style that the opening has, and is also preformed by the seiyu. The animation is fitting for an ED, and shows us some of the upcoming characters as well as a ton of fanservice.

Haha, this episode was pretty hilarious. I’m still going to point out its faults though. Watching bad love comedies is my business! I’m really loving Reika, even though she didn’t get much screen time this episode. She’s just so funny, and there needs to be something between Ninomiya and Mayu to keep the story going. The introduction of Hinako finally gives Mayu another girl friend to get her out of the sea of guys, along with some other benefits. Wow, I didn’t know Mayu was such a perv! Okushiro is the typical class president type, but it looks like she’s got a darker side to her. I’m not really sure what to think of these shows, where every single girl is blatantly attracted to Ninomiya. The extremely predictable foreshadowing from Ninomiya’s childhood dreams are killing me, and I still can’t get over Ryoko wanting to make porn out of our lovely couple.

I actually laughed a lot when Reika tripped and fell in the bathroom. It was so Love Hina. I’m surprised Ninomiya didn’t fall into Mayu’s crotch or something. I’ll still call this a love comedy, but there’s honestly so much more emphasis on fanservice. I don’t even watch anime for fanservice! Reika’s team of gay men had me reminded of Inukami, which was pretty hilarious with all the engrish. I can honestly say that I don’t want to see anything like that again though. It just didn’t work in this anime. The animation was pretty bad again in this episode, with Mayu’s arm being obviously deformed when she was talking to Hinako on the bench. Ugh. Next week it looks like we’ll be introduced to the white haired girl who showed up in the ED. I hope that will bring something fun to the table.
