Summary:

Louise has a dream where she sees Saito and Tabitha getting along better than they should. When she angrily tries to use her explosive magic, she is alarmed to find that she cannot. When she wakes, she further panics to find that she has really lost her ability to use magic. Tabitha meanwhile teaches Saito how to read the book she has in her possession, crediting him as her life saver. When Louise appears to tell Saito her news, he is unable to find it as alarming as her. When Tabitha claims that she will protect Saito in her place, Louise continues to worry. Colbert meanwhile travels via airship to the students’ location. Previously, he had met with Henrietta and Osmond to discuss the situation. Believing that Colbert wouldn’t have enough forces, Agnes offered some of her help.

While the students travel together, Saito expresses his amazement with his ability to learn the language in Tabitha’s book so easily. Tabitha credits this to the Gandalfr, describing its abilities. After hearing about this, Louise panics at the thought of losing Saito once again. She quickly asks him what he felt like when he lost the Gandalfr previously, but Saito is unsure what she is talking about. The group is interrupted when something large falls from the sky in front of them. This turns out to be a large knighted beast, who Sheffield is revealed to be riding on top of. The students quickly engage combat with the monster, but are unsuccessful for the majority of the time. When Louise is captured by Sheffield, she refuses Saito’s help despite her loss of magic. Saito is eventually able to save Louise with Tabitha’s help, then embracing her after realizing what she had been worried about.

When Colbert shows up, he introduces a large artillery gun to Saito. Using the Gandalfr’s powers, Saito soon has the students help him operate the machinery. Because of the enemy’s magic, however, the first shot is ineffective. The group realizes that Louise must use dispel magic, but she is still unable to conjure magic. Tabitha claims that she will take Saito instead by kissing him, but when Louise sees this, her magic instantly returns to her with her wishes against this. With the spell cast, the students are able to defeat Sheffield’s monster. Although losing in the end, Joseph is delighted to see the power presented before him. In the airship afterwards, Saito scolds Louise for worrying on her own. When the two reaffirm that they love each other, they share a kiss once again.

ED: When the students return to Tristain, Louise is offered a new position by Henrietta as her sister of royalty. Saito is also offered his Chevalier’s cloak back, and Tabitha is recognized as Princess Charlotte. Louise gets jealous when Tabitha gets close to Saito, ending with the usual antics.

Impression:

Even if it’s not saying much, this episode wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought it would be. Although it seemed like a rehash of the first part of this season, Louise’s losing her magic abilities was a fun conflict to watch as Tabitha got closer to Saito. It was pretty cute when Saito comforted her after all her worrying towards the end of the episode too. As much as I like the main pairing, Tabitha has been one of my favorite characters since the first season. If not predictable and random at the same time, seeing her get all blushy and kissing Saito was very entertaining. I also want to know where all these freaking weapons are coming from. Do they really just fall out of the sky for Colbert to find in his free time? At least they give me a chance to make fun of Saito for calling Trinity to send him abilities in the Matrix… The end of the episode looked like it could make for all kinds of epic with the characters’ new roles, but then again, I thought the same when Saito was made a Chevalier in the beginning of the season. It’s pretty obvious that a fourth season is underway, but I’ll leave it to the final impression for my thoughts on that.

Final Impression:

When I first saw Zero no Tsukaima, I went into it without any real expectations for it. After finishing the first season, I loved it. It was a great mix of romantic comedy with magic fun. Having established my anime blog only a few months before the second season came out, I quickly jumped at the chance to talk about the whacky story of mages and familiars. This turned out to be a huge disappointment by the end, however, with just too much serious business than I thought the series should have had. By the time the third season was announced, I could only hope that it would make up for the bad taste that was left in my mouth. J.C. Staff certainly lightened up on the heavy plot that was present in the second season this time around, but with even worse results. With the excessive fanservice that I have grown to hate it most anime, and episodes that seemed to be completely out in left field, the train that was Zero no Tsukaima had no where to go but into a wreckage of boobs.

Why were characters like Tiffania introduced, only to become eye candy for the rest of the season? Even characters like Siesta, who previously had somewhat respectable roles, just became useless pieces of Saito’s ever growing harem. The opening suggested several potential stories, like Saito’s new stature and Tabitha’s relationship with him, but these plot elements were barely touched on. What exactly did we spend the whole season watching? When censoring appeared in the broadcast version of the series, in places that typically wouldn’t be censored in the first place, I could only believe that J.C. Staff had become desperate to make sales on its failing franchise. I am not a novel reader, but I can only suspect that it must be doing better than this horrible adaption. Of course, where the series stands now, there will have to be fourth season. At this point, I’m not sure what to think about it. I would probably watch it for completion’s sake, but if I’m still blogging around the time it comes out, I don’t think I would even come close to feeling like talking about it.

…and I blogged To-Love-Ru to episode 15. Case closed?

Summary:

Using her seductive nature, Kirche is able to find out Tabitha’s location in Gallia. She further comes up with the plan to put all of the girls in clothing similar to hers, as they all put the local soldiers to sleep with potions. When Louise seems to be left out of the plan, Kirche explains that she wanted her to rest. This was because she had recognized and respected Louise for her talents. Louise ends up dressing up anyways, temping Saito when he meets alone with her later. This is, of course, interrupted by Guiche who walks in on the two. In other places, Colbert is released by Agnes despite the feelings she has about him. The girls put on their show after being let into the nearby pub by soldiers looking for entertainment. One officer has the request to see Louise in private, however, and Louise agrees to do this mission when she finds out about it.

Louise accidentally loses her sleeping potion on the way to the officer’s room, and when Saito finds out about this, he rushes to save her. The students confront Vidalshal outside, all being overcome by his reflective spells. Louise and Saito realize that they must use dispel magic to fight this, however, allowing them to subdue him. Tiffania prevents Saito from killing Vidalshal, having heard from her mother that elves would not preform such acts for no reason. Vidalshal surrenders after this, revealing Tabitha’s location. When Sheffield learns that Tabitha has been rescued, she alerts Joseph. With this, Joseph plans to finally unleash the beast he had contained in his chambers.

Preview: Final episode…really?

Impression:

I heard this anime had a plot. Is there really one more episode left in this season of Zero no Tsukaima? Did we really spend all this time just introducing one character who doesn’t seem to have much of a role and saving Tabitha as the damsel in distress for the season? At this point, I can only see this adaption going downhill. And at this rate, there will probably be a fourth season too. If I’m still doing this by the time it comes out, I seriously doubt I will even want to talk about it. Fanservice is what gets the ratings though, so I suspect most fans will be all over this episode. There were bouncing boobs everywhere. If you’re not into that though, there was plenty of DFC in the form of Louise. I laughed when Saito threw Louise on the bed, but when Guiche showed up to ruin the fun, it was business as usual. I also love how they really tried to introduce some development in the end, with Tiffania trying to defend the evil elf who lost because Saito and Louise are better at RPGs than him. Oh well, next week is the last episode. I’m looking forward to it for reasons other than I probably should be.

Summary:

Agnes apologizes for allowing the prisoners escape while she was away, but she quickly moves to fix this due to Henrietta’s orders. When Saito and the others arrive at Scarron’s bar, he and Jessica are more than happy to help everyone. With this, the students are given costumes to hide their identities. Saito questions why Colbert has gone through such lengths to help them, so he expresses his debt to Tabitha. Colbert describes the plan he has to trick Henrietta and allow Saito and the others escape, but the group becomes worried about Colbert’s well being. Despite this, he puts Tabitha’s condition before his. In other places, Tabitha begins reading the book she was given while with her mother. When Joseph meets Sheffield, he has her take him to the large beast they have confined in one of their chambers.

With their costumes, Saito and the others are successfully able to pass a checkpoint. Louise can only think of her position as a commoner, however, as this means all she has is Saito to depend on. Colbert and his group are able to make their way out of the area via airship, enraging the chasing Agnes and her soldiers. Louise falls while walking with the others, and despite her attempt to support herself, Saito allows her to ride on his back. Louise then realizes that Saito has been alone ever since entering her world, amazed how he can keep up his confidence. Agnes finally brings down Colbert’s ship, but when she finds out that he is alive, she is put into rage. In other places, Saito and the others finally reach the edge of Gallia.

Preview: Stripping time?

Impression:

Zero no Tsukaima! Ahahaha! ….It was a joke. Very little actually happened in this episode, but a full episode was still pulled off with the use of random comedy and fanservice. Seeing everyone in their get-ups was amusing I guess, but the plan Colbert came up with just seemed too simple. When he even used Siesta to get past some of the guards, I just had to put my hand on my forehead. Oh, but that’s when I start thinking about this show too much again… Probably one of the more notable moments in this ep would be Agnes going berserk yet again. Yes, apparently there just wasn’t enough angst in season two to go around. I think I’m probably just coming into these episodes with the wrong expectations, especially after watching the two other Sunday shows that I put more priority on. Next week’s episode doesn’t look particularly deep either, so maybe I should just let my mind go blank before that one.

Summary:

The academy searches for clues dealing with Tabitha, but during the commotion, a girl appears in the nude to find Saito. The girl introduces herself as Irukukwu, explaining that she needs to save her older sister. This older sister turns out to be Tabitha, and Irukukwu later explains that she had been captured while trying to save her mother. When the majority of the students do not seem to fully believe Irukukwu’s story, she rushes away to get proof. The students are soon greeted by Sylphid, and after Saito asks her questions to confirm Irukukwu’s statements, the Undine are then convinced enough to help. Believing that it would be bad to take action on their own, however, a few of them decide to meet Henrietta. While the Undine discuss this, Louise can only continue to worry about Saito’s relationship with the queen. In other places, it is revealed that Tabitha’s capturer is none other than her uncle Joseph. The elf Vidashal attempts to deal with Joseph while with him, mentioning a demon’s power that seems to be a certain threat to his people.

When Saito and a few others meet Henrietta, they are surprised to find that she will not allow their actions. As she explains that this is because they could start a war as her knights, Saito offers to leave the chevaliers to prevent troubling her. In response to this, however, Henrietta has Agnes arrest Saito and the others. While alone with her, Louise finally takes the chance to ask Henrietta what she thinks of Saito. Describing her lonely feelings and the fact that there was no one around that she could depend on, Henrietta suggests that she might have been looking for anyone to get close to. This bothers Louise, but she goes on to explain the importance of her familiar to Henrietta. Louise also removes her symbol of royalty, causing even her to become locked up with Saito and the others. Several of the group’s friends eventually show up to save them later, but when Saito and the others wonder how the academy knew they were captured, Irukukwu is forced to reveal her identity as Tabitha’s familiar Sylphid. Elsewhere, Tabitha wakes to learn from Vidashal that it is planned that she would have to drink the same potion that made her mother lose her mind.

Preview: Plot and fanservice. I bet you didn’t see that one coming.

Impression:

No, it wasn’t Louise and Saito’s. It wasn’t even Kabitzin’s or Hinano’s. I’ve got a new sister in my family though, kind of like Tabitha seemed to have in this episode.

…Too bad this week’s episode sucked. Irukukwu was pretty cute, even though her adding “~ne” at the end of everything was kind of getting to me. Sylphid also reminded me that there are actually other familiars in this show besides Saito. I mean, really…when was the last time we saw Kirche’s salamander or Guiche’s mole? The animation for this episode was really sloppy, and there even some terrible transitions while listening to the bgm. It really seems like this series can’t go anywhere but downhill after the first season, and no, trying to sell dvds by censoring random crap isn’t helping. Even the development in this episode was lackluster, with Saito and the others being jailed for wanting to save Tabitha. The mention of Louise being Henrietta’s childhood friend made me let out a big sigh too, especially while the two were being angsty about who is the best in Saito’s harem. Next week doesn’t look terribly better, but maybe they can surprise me by dishing out another streak of enjoyable episodes.

Summary:

While a party is held on Colbert’s large airship, he and Kirche explain how long it took for them to develop it. Saito and Louise are more concerned with Golbert’s being alive, so Kirche further explains that Tabitha had faked his death during the event they last saw him at. Either way, both Saito and Louise are extremely relieved that he is alive. Saito recalls his fight with Tabitha the previous night, but he cannot bring himself to tell the others about it yet. Louise sees the concerned look on Saito’s face, but she still cannot forgive him for what had happened the previous night. She again scolds Saito about these things, but she is interrupted by Henrietta’s appearance on the ship. While watching the reactions Henrietta and Saito give each other, Siesta finally realizes that there is something going on between the two. Siestta brings this up with Louise later, but this only causes various new delusions.

Henrietta recalls the previous night she had with Saito, wondering about the feelings she has now. Tiffania has meanwhile visited Louise and Siesta, and after hearing about their worries, she presents them with a magic item that would allow them to see if Saito was telling the truth to Louise. Although wanting to trust Saito, Louise is unable to refuse the offer to use the magnifying glass. The girls approach Saito while he is talking with Colbert outside, but Derflinger quickly advises him to run. Saito is able to escape through the ship for awhile, even after seemingly being caught by Tiffania, but the girls eventually trap him. When Louise uses the magnifying glass on him, however, the girls see the fight he had with Tabitha. Saito finally expresses his belief that this was due to Sheffield’s orders, not by her own will, and Kirche states that she has her own theory about this.

Kirche explains Tabitha’s true identity as the daughter of the King’s murdered brother, as well as her mother’s circumstances. She also describes her low ranking as a knight, and the impossible tasks the country of Gallia has continued to give her. Recalling events that would have suggested this in the past, Saito and Louise can only wonder what would happen to her now that she has failed a mission. When Tabitha enters her home elsewhere, she finds that her mother is missing. In the now torn apart room, an elf remains to explain that Tabitha’s mother has been taken away to whereabouts unknown. When Tabitha attacks this person, she is shocked to find that he can easily reflect her attacks. Even Sylphid fails to save Tabitha, leaving her to faint next to her mother’s doll. When Henrietta hears the news from Saito and Louise, she expresses her will to help. With this, she leaves the academy once again.

Preview: Tabitha’s sister?

Impression:

They must have gotten it from Wonder Woman. Though Colbert’s reappearance was properly explained in the first half of the episode, the rest of it was fairly uneventful. Louise getting caught up in an act to find out more about Saito was pretty formulaic, and I thought the only great part of that was her locking him up in her knees (hot). Henrietta’s getting all confused about her feelings for Saito was pretty entertaining too, especially when she went on about how she couldn’t do such things as the queen. The second part of the episode was quite a bit more interesting to me, with Tabitha’s backstory brought up again. It hasn’t been since the first season since we’ve had any development for her, and that was one of my favorite parts. It looks like she will be getting a lot more action from here on though, so I’m pretty pumped to see more of that. A new character is suggested to show up next week, and I’m fairly certain it will be the obviously suggested person from the OP.

Summary:

Arguing over Saito as usual, Siesta proposes a challenge to Louise. Depending on which of them he chose during the upcoming dance party, Siesta would either give up on Saito or do whatever she wanted to him. The next day, Saito’s friends discuss the special mirror that would display what they truly want to become that night. Saito becomes more interested in two passing students’ conversation, however, dealing with the recent sighting of a large flying object that resembles a plane. Saito decides to alert Louise of this, in belief that it could deal with Sheffield, but he is greeted by a plotting Siesta when he reaches her room. Saito isn’t quite able to react, however, as Louise quickly punishes him.

When Louise looks into the special mirror that night, she takes on the appearance of her older sister Cattleya. Making his way to the party late, Saito sees the large flying object that was talked about earlier. Osmond announces to the students that Henrietta has attended the party, but she has disguised herself as well. Several of the usual students take on their desired forms afterwards, resulting in some very odd results. Saito believes he has found Louise shortly after entering the ballroom, but this is actually Henrietta in disguise. Getting caught in the moment, the two share a kiss. When Sheffield appears to disrupt the festivities elsewhere, however, Saito is shocked to see Henrietta’s true appearance before him. Henrietta explains that she wishes she could become a person like Louise, but when Saito almost kisses her again, Louise appears with tears in her eyes.

Saito attempts to explain the situation to Louise as he chases her, but she soon disappears from him. Saito attempts to get help from Tabitha when he finds her, but she shockingly fires ice shards at him.Sheffield meanwhile takes advantage of Louise’s vulnerability to bring her to her side. Tabitha explains that she is attacking Saito due to orders, but Saito is soon able to defeat her. Saito shows mercy to her as a given, but she soon disappears. When Sheffield appears with Louise, Saito is actually able to open Louise’s eyes. Louise falls off of Sheffield’s familiar, and when Saito catches her, he quickly kisses her to convince her that he is not betraying her. Sheffield does not stop her attack, but her minions are soon shot down by the large ship that has appeared above her. On top of it, Saito is shocked to see Kirche and Colbert.

Tiffania, I officially hate you. The rest of the transformations were pretty entertaining, including fat boy goes bishoujo (I don’t see why…he already has boobs..) and Osmond turning into a girl as well. Henrietta’s kissing Saito in Louise form also made for some “Oh shi-” moments, just adding to the scandalous events that happened in the second season. I’m sure everyone loves a dere Louise too. I find it kind of strange that Siesta never showed up though, considering that her challenge was what started this episode. Also, even if she is Saito’s personal maid, I still find it odd that she just hangs out in Louise’s room all day.

That aside, OMFGWTF PANCAKES! Colbert is alive!? What the heck! Now all that dramatic development from season two is just floating in the air. It looks like he is going to be piloting a really overpowered plane/airship now though, which is totally fitting for an epic come back. Tabitha’s betrayal is obviously due to her wish to save her mother, but looking at the suggestions from the OP, I’m guessing that she’s just going to become closer to Saito after he saves her in more ways than one. With all that said, I’m actually getting quite excited about Zero no Tsukaima again. That sure took awhile.

Summary:

Not wanting her to lose to Louise, Scarron and Jessica provide Siesta with a love medicine to win Saito’s affection. Siesta is conflicted about using this, but she eventually decides that she would like to obtain a bit of the happiness that she wishes for. Back at the academy, Louise returns to her room after giving her usual abuse to Saito. Siesta convinces Louise to let her be alone with Saito for awhile, but she still cannot find the chance to use the medicine while spending time with him. Scarron and Jessica follow Siesta to the academy to further help her, but when Siesta accidentally drops the medicine out of the window later, Montmorency is quickly affected by it.

Montmorency spreads the medicine’s affect to Louise by sharing a kiss with her, and several of the other girls are affected in the same way afterwards. When Tiffania suspects what is going on, she quickly uses magic to make the girls forget what they have been doing. When Siesta explains and apologizes, the students quickly get back to their usual business. Later that night, Tabitha meets Sheffield after receiving an alarming letter. Sheffield suggests that there may be a way to restore Tabitha’s mother to normal, giving Tabitha no choice but to investigate.

Preview: Louise searches for her true self..or something.

Impression:

Totali: I can’t get excited about Zero anymore, lol.
Aroduc: That’s because you’re putting effort into it.
Totali: Yea, you’re probably right.

Plot? Huh? Where! As pointless as this episode was, it was definitely one of the more entertaining ones so far. It was just so out there that I probably wasn’t ready for it. I loved Siesta’s hilarious fantasies with the “ef” faces, and just the tone of her voice really brought out Yui Horie’s talent. I do wonder why she is always in Louise’s room though. Some people might like yuri, and some people might hate it, but I thought the love medicine set up was great either way. I think one of my favorite episodes from the first season was with the love potion, even though that one focused a lot more on Louise. It seems like they might just be going for a lot more fanservice this season, especially with the ridiculous censoring showing up a lot more now. I guess character development just doesn’t cut it these days. Next week’s episode looks to be getting “back on track”. Hopefully I won’t have to hate on it, since there’s the suggestion that Louise and Saito will be getting closer again.

Summary:

Louise has Saito read a contract out loud, admitting that he preformed acts with Tiffania and agreeing not to touch her large breasts anymore. Saito disagrees to sign this at last minute though, leaving Louise’s room while expressing that there is no meaning in staying with her if she cannot trust him. Saito comes across Colbert’s old lab while walking outside, recalling that he was the only one who really believed in his previous world. Saito finds that many of his male acquaintances are getting along with girls shortly after, falling into despair over his own situation. Throughout the campus, most people easily see that Saito and Louise are fighting again. Guiche comes up with a plan to cheer Saito up, gathering a few of his friends to dig a hole all the way to the edge of the girls’ bath.

When Saito meets the boys, and looks through the peephole they have made, he is surprised to see Louise and Tiffania sitting next to each other in the baths. Inside, Tiffania asks for Louise to touch her breasts to check if they are abnormally large. When Tiffania mentions that she had Saito do the same thing, Louise finally realizes that Saito was not lying earlier. Saito meanwhile attempts to prevent the other boys from looking in the baths in belief that they would see Louise’s naked body. When he lets out large yell, the girls quickly realize that they are being spied on. When the boys are captured by the girls, they are quickly punished. Saito is able to escape, however, with the help up Tabitha’s magic.

When Saito asks Tabitha why she helped him, she explains that it is thanks for feeding Sylphid earlier. The two are quickly forced to hide, however, because Montmorency enters the room they are in to search for Guiche. Even after Montmorency leaves, Saito worries because Tiffania is still nude. Tabitha faints after believing there are ghosts in the room, and Saito is surprised when he sees several dolls appear to dance in the room. This makes him remember the dance he and Louise shared in the past, making him believe that he is at fault as well. When Louise shows herself to Saito, she has him admit that he was with the boys earlier. She actually believes him when he states that he did not know they were planning on peeping, and Saito makes her happy in return by saying that he actually likes small breasts like hers. When Louise sees that Tabitha is also in the room, however, she expresses her usual rage towards Saito.

Preview: Hot girl on girl action.

Impression:

Okay, so maybe I was. After last week’s episode, I just couldn’t help but accuse this show of not knowing what it wants to be. One week we have lovcom action, the next week we have plot. I was thinking I would have to prepare myself to actually sit through and accept some of the development in this episode, but I guess my earlier theory was proven right when the whole episode ended up being about boys peeping into the girls’ bath. With that said, I ended up finding this episode hilarious. Things like a big freaking arrow appearing when Montmorency found the peephole made things even more outrageous than they already were, and it laughed out loud when Saito basically admitted to liking DFC. Tabitha is a really fun character too, and I remember being disappointed from not having enough of her in season two. Even if the censoring was ridiculous during her parts of this episode, it was pretty fun to watch. But yea, with three shows on Sunday which I can’t seem to keep up with anymore, I’m pretty much going to put this show on low priority. That’s what I did last summer, and it seemed to work out a lot better for me.

Summary:

As Saito spars with Guiche among several other male students, Kirche seems to notice how jealous Louise is about her inability to speak with him much lately. Everyone is surprised when Tiffania appears to greet Saito, as she expresses how his words helped to give her confidence to go to the school. Of course, the fact that she is a half elf would be hidden while she is at the academy. Seeing Tiffania’s attachment to Saito, Louise can only continue to be frustrated. When Saito attempts to sneak out of her room on a later morning, Louise quickly wakes to express her annoyance with him. Confused with her angry tone, Saito simply states that he is going to training as usual. Although she is unable to clearly state her wish to spend more time with him, Louise simply tells Saito to come back earlier when he is done.

Tiffania is approached by several male students during the day, but when they attempt to take off her hat, she is forced to run away in panic. Not too far away, Giulio watches. In the afternoon, Saito asks Tabitha if she would like to join the Undine. However, she is forced to disappoint him by denying. Saito sees Tiffania being bullied by a group of girls with one who claims to be a princess afterwards, so he quickly runs in to defend her. Guiche stops Saito during the commotion, and afterwards, he attempts to make him realize how dangerous his actions were. When Saito returns to Louise’s room, she attempts to win him over with the plan she had come up with throughout the day. Saito quickly angers her by talking about Tiffania’s troubles again though, only forcing Saito to leave once again.

The next morning, Tiffania reveals her identity to the student body in order to prevent more trouble for Saito and the others. This panics most of the students, but the princess Beatrice only challenges Tiffania in order to see if she can really become allied with them. The request is impossible, of course, as it involves Tiffania entering a boiling pot of water to prove her loyalty to divinity. Saito soon steps in to stop this, in disbelief that no one else would help. However, when he realizes that Louise would also be in danger because of his actions, he starts to beg to Beatrice while dropping his sword. When she starts to retaliate even then, students finally start to help Saito. When Louise’s good dreams are interrupted by the chaos, she finally steps in to help. After a large explosion, she quickly makes everyone realize that Beatrice does not have any proof of her stature. Tiffania reaches out to the girl even after everyone else seems to abandon her, only making everyone see how kind she really is. Louise and Siesta find Saito in a suggestive situation with Tiffania in the infirmary later, causing the usual trouble.

Preview: Baths and high knee socks.

Impression:

Louise’s fantasies were easily the best part of this episode. She was like, “Omigawd~ just realize my feelings!” The rest of the episode, on the other hand, I’m not really sure I could appreciate as much. I know there are several novel readers out there, but I’m not one of them. Even still, I can still feel as if the animation’s pacing just isn’t coming off as effectively as it would in text. This would probably have to the problem that arrises when you take a somewhat serious story and try to make it appeal to the usual fanservice/lovcom fans. I won’t try to make up any stories; I really only watch this show to see the antics that occur between Louise and Saito. So, I guess I’m kind of guilty of being shallow when it comes to this show. But who else can really say they cared about the random chick that showed up in this episode? Did we really get that much out of it? Her showing up in the ED might suggest she will play a slightly bigger role, but I don’t think so. Although I was more enthusiastic about this season when it first started, things might start looking just like they did in the second season if this continues. I’m also very tired…and I have to work tomorrow. Maybe I would be more enthused if this wasn’t the case. Haha. “Amigawd~ Saito~”

Summary:

After giving one last look to her cabin, Tiffania is welcomed into Agnes’ carriage. Tiffania mentions that this is the first time that she had left her home to travel to such a far place, and when Louise asks about her family, she reveals that her mother has passed away. Having desired to travel the world before, Tiffania believes that this journey is fate. Upon this statement, Louise realizes that the person Sheffield may have been searching for could be Tiffania. When the group reaches Tristain, Tiffania is amazed at the grand sights she sees. When Henrietta sees the crew inside, she is relieved that Saito’s rune has returned. When it comes time for Tiffania to introduce herself, Henrietta mentions that it is difficult to see her face with the hat she is wearing. When Tiffania removes her hat, she surprises those around her by revealing that she is actually an elf. Tiffania more correctly reveals that she is a half elf, but Henrietta promises that she will not hate her simply because of this fact.

Sitting down for tea later, the group finally reveals the threat of Sheffield that they encountered during their journey. Sheffield meets with her master in the meantime, as the two discuss their advancing plans. Henrietta and the others notice when Tiffania observes a ring in her hand, as she explains that part of it had disappeared when she had used it to revive Saito. Saito recalls that he did not remember anything that had happened after his battle in the war, so Derflinger reveals that his heart had already stopped at that point. Saito had been transported to the forest, where Tiffania had saved his life. Tiffania states that she only did what she thought she should have, as her mother had told her to save anyone who was in need. When Henrietta questions if Tiffania also holds the power to use magic, however, she runs from the group after recalling violent memories from her childhood.

Saito wakes that night, being drawn to Tiffania’s singing voice outside. As the two sit with each other, Tiffania mentions that the moons she can see from Tristain is the same she could see from her home. When she further states that she once believed that she would always live alone in her cabin, Saito wonders if she regrets coming with them. Although Tiffania does not believe this is the case, she finally reveals that she is able to use magic. Because of the bad memories she shared with her mother in the past, however, it pains TIffania to remember details about it. Tiffania states that she does not know if magic is good or bad, so Saito states that there must be some meaning in her having the power. Saito also mentions his coming from a distant world, which he also believes had a special meaning. Tiffania thanks Saito when he offers to hear any of her troubles, but when she grasps his hands, Saito quickly leaves back to his room because of his belief that Louise would be enraged from seeing such a situation.

Later, Saito is officially knighted by Henrietta. When Siesta appears to attend to him while calling him “master”, Louise is shocked at Henrietta’s also appointing the maid a new role to assist Saito. The atmosphere is soon changed when Henrietta reveals that Tiffania is actually her cousin, and when Saito suggests that Tiffania come to the academy with them, she is forced to refuse for the moment. Louise is quickly angered by Saito’s persistence in having Tiffania come, but she also takes the chance to thank Tiffania for saving his life. When Saito and the others return to the academy, they are surprised to see a large crowd ready to congratulate Saito. To their further surprise, and Saito’s despair, a new following has been organized for his new position as well.

Preview: Saito makes Louise know her place.

Impression:

Saito got an epic cloak! It needs a leet enchant quick. I’m also wondering how much Tiffania rolled for that ring, cause it was totally overpowered. A teleport to safety and instant rez? Blizz….plz nerf?? I laughed when the group freaked after learning that Tiffania was an elf too. “You’re not for the alliance??” She’s just lucky that no one else on the server likes to rez. Putting the random MMO and role playing jokes aside, I have to say that I didn’t quite like this episode as much as the previous two. I’m going to be completely honest here. The actual ZnT plot makes my eyes glaze over. I mean, really. If anyone says they’re watching this show for the actual plot, they’re definitely lying. I try to stay open minded, but when Louise getting flustered over Siesta attending to Saito was the highlight of the episode for me, something is wrong. I will admit that a lot of the details seemed like they would probably become important in the future, but like most of the second season, watching this kind of stuff is just a drag. Next week on the other hand, looks really awesome. Louise obviously likes it when her tank gets new gear. Wink. Wink.

….and now I have to jet before Kabitzin gets up in my business about stealing his jokes.
